I was given the option to rebrand or gastric bypass after erosion with open gi bleeding. I love the band but personally grid bypass wasn't the scary thing I was told it was, actually saved my life! I' blve most do well with then band but pray those who don't consider it bc I woke up with color I haven't had in years.

Remember why you did this and post it everywhere. You could stall weight loss for a month and still be ok so just follow the doctors instructions and know it gets better

I self payed for Lapband 5 years ago so this was covered but my surgeon who is top in Dallas for revisions stated its possible to get it payed if it is coded correctly by the doctors office

I had an erosion with gi bleed at 5 years postoperative. All I wanted is removal and was told that was not an option due to the scares under the band. I had a revision to gastric bypass, which scared me. I woke up a new person and have not vomited or had pain in 4 weeks

Hey guys I'm 26 and 5 years into the weight loss surgery journey.. If u ever have questions let me know!

Yes I had Lapband in 08 and have had am erosion so band needs to come out. Dr Alexander told me to not out it back in so his team recommended bypass. I was hesitant until he showed me the complication reports where the band is at the same risk level as Lapband. Dr Alexander was the best surgeon I ,et as I tried 3 or four and he just knew the most. When I consulted with him he sat solely with me for two hours. he listened and asked about all aspects of the band and then what to do from then on. I had a choice between sleeve and bypass and he stated sleeve is great but because they don't have alot of long term surgery results in sleeve for a revision bypass is best

I tried this product that is called Greens and is 8 servings of veggies and fruits in one scoop which is less than a teaspoon! I was shocked that I feel so much more energy during the day and my face is now clear. I went through the containers before I started selling it and now I'm hooked!! Jessicadavis123.myitworks.com

When you go to sorts I was allowed runny eggs and these were a lifesaver for protein. I was still doing the protein shakes but I would make a large batch flavor of mainly egg whites flavored with seasoning ( non spicy low sodium) and portion them out in glad containers.

Slow and steady weight loss prevents skin not bouncing back so let it happen because it will!

I had a major issue with constipation post surgery which was next an issue before but when you eat lot less there is alot less going through the colon. The key is water and fiber helped keep it as regular as possible -

50/50 chance of esophageal dilation - really upset
jad0264 replied to addie1978's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dilation alone isn't the huge concern, well most of the time, but can be sign of ulceration or perforation later on. I had dilation continued to vomit then ended up perforating. I just recommend continuing to update your doctor on symptom as I did not do thirs like I should have done -
Please please continue to push for answers! Although it could be what your eating if you believe it's not what your eating don't let people tell you it is you. I kept saying that and doctors telling me it had to be noncompliance until I saw the revision specialist. He said that is bs and that if you have pain you cannot live that way long term
