Are they trying to kill off the employees or just completely slow down the work product? Just kidding (well, sort of). Seriously, that kind of food is not going to make anybody's body happy in the long run. You are so much better than that -- you are committed to fitness and health. You don't need that crap! So there.

Wow, that is quite a milestone. Way to go!

Hi there, I'm trying to figure out My Fitness Pal, how to friend, etc. Found the place to add via e-mail so Intelirish I sent you one....I am sabinadublin on MFP. Cannot find how to add by name/handle, however, but I'm not giving up -- NNicole209 and Christyflick and Jen Webber -- or you can go add me if you know how. As you can see I cannot even figure out how to change the font so now I am writing in purple, which is actually rather splendid. It will be great to have a group of banders on My Fitness Pal for further support of exercise initiatives, etc. I am still not banded -- date is 11/5 so if I am not with it for a while don't worry I will get there to join you! sabinadublin aka bandista here......thanks so much for starting this thread!

Congratulations on the under 250 -- that is awesome. And so sorry about the Starbucks episode. Hope you're feeling better. I am not banded yet and of course I worry about just this kind of thing. We eat so fast in our society -- inhale is the exact word for that. I think you really nailed it on the being too hungry part (sorry about the migraines, eek!). There's that saying, HALT. Never get too Hungry Angry Lonely Tired. And hey, you got a day in bed with a cup of tea! Feel better soon and tell your sub-conscious mind to get busy filing this one away for the future. Best wishes!

So glad you're doing well and have turned that corner. Pain medication is such a trial for the body -- all those side effects. -

Hi Louise, so glad you are here -- how about calling the insurance company first thing and getting clear on your coverage so you can get the health care you deserve. What are the foods you're not tolerating? I am pre-band and have learned so much here -- mainly how different we all are. Maybe your body is trying to tell you something. Sounds like you've been through a lot and are coming through the other side. Best wishes for all good things to come! -
I gained my weight from Prednizome. Fifty in a few fleeting weeks then another fifty over time. So happy for you getting your band -- how are you doing? My surgery is four weeks from tomorrow. Best wishes and welcome!

Yay is right -- way to go. Love it when the jeans fit well. And glimpsing yourself in the mirror like that is so empowering. You are on your way. Here's to health and happiness!

So happy for you -- you are doing beautifully! I am scheduled for 11/5 and can't wait to be banded and start this journey to health and vitality.

Scale Intervention
Bandista replied to NewMeDebbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a very complicated issue for some. I suspect more women may be victims of the kind of self-deprecation that comes from monitoring success and failure at the scale too closely, rather than just seeing the data as an indicator. So much feels at stake at that moment when the number is about to appear. -
Knowing how important after-care and an on-going relationship is to the success of the band, I was very eager to meet my surgeon. Yesterday was the big day at last (on my birthday!). The process at the hospital where I will be banded includes a mandatory information session, a meeting with program coordinator, psych evaluation and a nutritionist appointment all before the meeting with the surgeon. A gauntlet! I am happy to report that I really, really like the guy. He is relaxed and professional at the same time, intelligent and definitely has a good sense of humor. I can tell we are going to get along well, which of course is key to the project ahead (we'll be seeing quite a bit of each other over the coming year). My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday November 5th, just over five weeks from now. This gives me some time to launch into pre-op mode. My BMI was just high enough (40). I was not able to undertake any kind of weight loss until the magic number was submitted to the insurance company, but now I'm going to do what I can to get a headstart before formal pre-op and the surgery. Still mulling this over. Of course we are all professional dieters and in some ways I feel like this is my last one. Once I am banded I do not want to have the dieting mentality. I look forward to letting go of all the over-thinking about food and just having my very small meals every 4-6 hours and exercising as much as possible while my weight drops over time.

Scale Intervention

Great piece; thanks. I can so relate. I think I'd better get rid of our scale for a bit, maybe put it out in the barn. -

Hi Allie, let us know what the doctor's office says this morning. Hope you are able to get more water in now and those Popsicles sounded like a good idea. Everything is healing up inside. So glad you're doing well overall. You are really tuning in to your body, which is so great. And it's asking you for water! -
This is so helpful for me -- very glad to find this post. I am a month away from surgery and have been trying to get in the slimming mode but this is bringing up all the diet failure cycling for me. If I could diet successfully I would not need the band. I have been trying so hard, failing, beating myself up, trying some more.....and all the while I'm doing pretty well but not able to hold to the strict calorie intake it takes to drop some pounds. Guess that will happen on the liquids phase and later once band is working.

Wow, way to go! So happy for you. Congratulations on all the hard work and determination that got you to this place. So inspiring!

Lap Band revision to sleeve?
Bandista replied to TracieR's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi Tracie, I'm so sorry. What a time you've been having. This is out there, but is there any possibility you could be allergic to wheat? Gluten-intolerance is like an epidemic at this point -- and one of the symptoms is acid reflux. What if you are eating something your body cannot tolerate and that is causing all these problems?
