    Questions regarding pain

Darcy, I'm glad the support meeting was helpful. I am not back in Fond du Lac yet, but will be in a couple weeks and you'll have to let me know more about the meeting down there then. Are most of the people there going to Dr. Chua? etc. I really hope everything is better with you very soon, I cannot imagine living like you have for the past week! Take care, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just a thought...from the teachers lounge

"You don't owe them any explanations for anything." I totally agree! I'm so glad I was discrete at work. It is not anyone's business what you do! I will soon be a teacher -- I graduate in December. I'm so glad I had the chance to have my surgery last week so I do not have to take time off and make explanations or lies to my cooperating teacher where I will be student teaching. From now on it will not be an issue. Maybe being a "closet bandster" isn't as bad as I had originally thought.

But I know about the pain too....and i'm such a baby too But it's 4 days post-op and i'm feeling really good and looking forward to work on Monday -- Aug. 2nd. Hi I'm New..

:huytsao WOW! :huytsao I cannot believe someone who is supposed to be helping and supporting you in your decision is trying to make you change your mind! And by her saying "give dieting a go again" that is just crazy! We've all been there time and time again and know how that story ends! Okay i'm done venting....sorry! I just want to give you some support for you decision and maybe a bit of advice as well. It may be beneficial for you to get a better dr./nurse (if possible) who is going to support you through the long journey. Getting banded is just the beginning! I wish you lots of luck and hope you find a better support network within the hospital.

    Back to work?

I'm just curious when everyone went back to work after their lap-band surgery. I had surgury on Monday (26th) and was originally planning to return on Monday (Aug. 2nd). Is one week enough? Am I rushing things along too much? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

    4th Day Post Op

HEY! We were both banded on the same day! I am currently not going through any hunger pains yet, but I know when my mom made supper last night I wanted to eat! Somehow simply drinking my protein wasn't cutting my desire to eat some real food! That was "head hunger" for me though! I'm sure a lot of people will go through that as well... I think we get to start the "mushy phase" at 2 weeks post-op, I'm looking forward to that as well! We will have to remain in contact and support each other. Best of luck to you and I’m sure you will find fullness soon. Oh yeah, one other tip....my doctor suggested sugar-free popsicles. You have to limit yourself to 2 a day, but I had one yesterday and that helped to fill me up at supper time.

    Approved!!!! Woohooo!

I was approved and had all my paperwork in by the middle of May and was just banded on Monday (7/26) at Theda Clark. I'm not sure where you are at in WI or where you are having your surgury, but I am having a great experience with Dr. Wasco at Theda and well.... i'm feeling good enough to be on the website WHOOOO HOOOOOOO!
