Thank you Sabredy. You'll do just fine. I was more nervous before today. I'm surprisingly calm .... for now.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Just got my surgery time. Tomorrow at 1:30 is show time. Down 30 pounds on 3-week pre op diet and ready to do this ... I think.

A Whole Year Of Changes - Surgiversary!

Thank you for sharing your story Bunny. My surgery is tomorrow morning and I'm pretty freaked out about it. Your story helped remind me why I'm doing this and how good the outcome can be. Still pretty scared ...
  8. My surgery is Tuesday 12/10 and I've started taking my chewable Vitamins, Calcium and Vitamin D and find them terrible. I can't imagine chewing these nasty things for the rest of my life. Are you using chewable vitamins permanently? Also, I'm supposed to crush my prescription drugs post-op and mix with a little apple sauce. Are you guys doing this long-term or just temporarily while recovering from surgery?
  9. My surgery is Tuesday 12/10 and I'm extremely nervous too. Additionally not looking forward to 2 weeks on liquids post op. The shakes make me gag and I've tried many kinds. Also I tried my chewable Vitamins, Calcium and Vitamin D and they all suck. Can't image chewing those nasty things for the rest of my life. I'm second guessing my decision tonight but know I need to do this.
  10. My surgery is in 2 days and I've lost 30 pounds on pre-op diet. But, I'm already noticing some hanging skin under my chin. I'm 53 so I guess I shouldn't be shocked but this is new for me and I didn't expect anything like this at least until some bigger levels of weight loss. Damn, I'm going to look like a turkey after losing 100 pounds.
  11. I've been on shakes for 3 weeks with surgery scheduled for 12/10. I barf just thinking about those damn shakes. Don't know how I'm going to make it through 2 weeks of them post op .
  12. I too like calorie count. I tried myfitnesspal first but found the iPhone app cumbersome. The calorie count app was much easier to use for my needs. At this point I'm just recording all food consumed.
  13. I'm almost 2 weeks into my 3 week pre op diet. I've lost 15 pounds or so but have substituted allowable Proteins for shakes most of the time. I've logged all foods consumed and kept the carbs low and Protein where I'd should be. I thought I was allergic to whey as I got a rash after first Day of shakes but not sure now. My nut said it was ok to substitute proteins on list for shakes but I think my surgeon would get mad if I told him I did this. Tomorrow is my weigh in appointment and surgery in one week. Should I tell my surgeon about the shake replacing or not bring it up?

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

My surgery date is December 10. I've lost 26 pounds in the last 3 weeks and my goal is to lose an additional 110 pounds to reach my goal of 175.
  15. I just boxed up my largest pants and shirts one week before surgery. I've lost 26 pounds in the last 3 weeks and they're a little big. I have an abundant set of clothes in the next size smaller and although some are slightly tight, I'm going with them. Hopefully I'm not being overly-optimistic.

    Pre Op Diet Substituting Shakes

I had an appointment with my surgeon yesterday, one week before surgery. I came clean about changing the plan, reducing the use of the shakes. However, when he realized that I'd lost 26 pounds in 3 weeks he told me to keep doing what I'm doing .

    December Sleevers?

My surgery is on the 10th also. Best of luck.
  18. I am hoping to keep my upcoming WLS a secret from most people. I hate lying but can't tolerate hearing everyone's opinion Do you think it's believable to I'm having my gallbladder removed? Then when I start losing weight I was going to say I had some complications with the surgery.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'm on day 10 of my pre op diet and have had stomach issues the whole time. Not sure if it's normal ...

    Surgery Around Holidays?

I'm scheduled for surgery on December 10 of this year. I'm also planning to go back to work the day after Christmas. Planning to skip the Christmas eve and day festivities but I'm ok with that this year .

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Thanksgiving was my biggest challenge yet on this pre op diet. Our party of 20 motored through a 29 pound turkey and lots of great stuff. My wife and I did all the cooking so I had it all right in my face. But, I held strong and have only consumed 500 calories today.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I'm on day 8 of my pre op diet and down 16 lbs. Hate the shakes but forcing them down. With surgery less than 3 weeks away I'm getting more nervous each day but still committed to following through.

    Throwing Up

I'm neither a veteran nor a doctor but I think you should go to the ER right away.
  24. Interestingly, we are having 20 people at our house for dinner and only 2 of them know about my upcoming surgery 12/10. I will be helping my wife with the cooking, which should be a big challenge while on my pre-op diet. But, I expect to stick to my guns and not cheat. Just not sure how to explain that to my nosey mother. My general plan is to just say I'm on a diet, which is certainly very believable.
