    calcium citrate

I couldn't handle any of the chewables. My surgeon recommended the bariatric advantage chewy bites and I love them - all 4 flavors.

I'm doing very well chefcoll, thank you ... Since healing from my second surgery things have been going very well. How is your healing process going?

    Leak Security!

My surgeon told me that after 3.5 weeks post op I'm in the clear for a leak.

    4 week stall...UGH

I'm 3.5 weeks out and also seem to be in a stall. However, I've been measuring my waist and lost 1 inch in 3 days while my weight remained the same.

    Are you COLD?

I was also sleeved on 12/10 and am freezing too. I have the heat cranked up and wear layers of wool and a hat, and I'm still cold. I was always the one wearing shorts in the winter ...

    COFFEE ANYONE?

My doctor and nut said they no longer restrict coffee at all. So I began drinking one cup each morning at three weeks out and haven't had any problems.
  9. As a fellow meanie, I want to add that it's not about dashing peoples hopes or raining on their parades....it's about reality. The reality is 90% of the folks on this forum are either pre-op or still in the honeymoon stage. It's startling how things change once that honeymoon phase is over. No words can prepare you. One day it's so easy and the next day it's like you were never sleeved almost. And at that point it all falls on you. And you realize that the real tool is not the sleeve, it's the new behaviors you learned during the early months. The new lifestyle. The new healthy approach to life. If you don't embrace those things, it's gonna get tough down the line for you. I am worried about regaining after my honeymoon period. This is due to my track record of losing weight and regaining afterward.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I seem to have hit the famous 3 week stall at 19 days out. I haven't changed my diet or activity and have been at the same weight (or slightly higher) for 3 days. Sticking to my program and hoping to break free soon ....

    Does anyone have sleep apnea?

I have had severe sleep apnea since 1989. The CPAP machine has been 100% successful to treat it. When you get a machine I highly recommend getting a self- titrating machine, of which automatically adjusts the settings based on the need. This has been especially helpful as I've lost weight, as my setting has slowly lowered.

    I love peanut butter.

I'm 17 days out and introduced Peanut Butter a few days ago. My surgeon wants me on cottage cheese, yogurt, and scrambled eggs for another week, but I've done so well with those I didn't think creamy peanut butter would hurt and in fact my stomach has done very well with it.
  13. I was rushed to the hospital last night via ambulance after experiencing severe pain and nausea, in the middle of a snowstorm. My blood pressure was 60/25 which I'm told is extremely dangerous. Pumped me with fluids and BP came up to 107/55. Cat scan revealed bleeding and they are still not sure what's going on. May have more surgery. Pain is still pretty bad.

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Hi Andrew...we're SOOOOOO glad to see you here, and hope you are recovering wonderfully! Thanks for the stats...I have them down! Keep feeling better! Thanks very much MnWin ...
  15. Follow-up appointment with surgeon for second surgery yesterday. He's very pleased with my progress recovering from both surgeries and he's very happy with my weight loss. He started me on soft foods, which was awesome. I'd become so intolerant of Protein shakes that I'd just stopped using them. My protein for several days was almost nothing and calories probably averaging around 100/day. Now, starting with cottage cheese and yogurt, progressing to scrambled eggs soon. Hoping it's smooth sailing from here ...

  17. Thanks again for everything, everyone!! I'm feeling pretty good now, 5 days out from my second surgery and 10 days out from my sleeve surgery. Feeling some pressure in my stomach area but I wouldn't call it pain. After coming home from sleeve surgery I really felt great and it wasn't until 4 days out when I had the internal bleeding problem. So, while I'm feeling pretty good now (again), I'm also very much so on-guard this time.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I was sleeved 12/10 (and then more surgery 12/15 for internal bleeding) and doing ok now. Having difficulty getting in protein, as the shakes make me gag. I'm probably only getting 15 grams of protein a day now, which is not good. Looking forward to mushy stage next week.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I've been out of commission lately, so I wanted to be sure to wish all of the upcoming December sleevers smooth sailing with your surgery and wish all of the Post-Op December sleevers quick recoveries.
  20. The second surgery addressed my internal bleeding. If was done as emergency surgery Sunday morning. By the time he got in there the bleeding had stopped so we don't know the source of the bleeding. He expected that but saiid it was important to clean out the blood as it would have caused additional problems like a leak.
  21. Home from the hospital (through another snow storm) and feeling better. Still sore from my second surgery but everything is looking good. Planning to take it really easy ...
  22. I genuinely appreciate all of the support from everyone in the forum. Thanks again ...
  23. Thank you to everyone for your concern and positive thoughts. I'm told that I'm healing well and will go home tomorrow. The surgeon could not find the source of the bleeding as it had stopped by the time he went in there. He checked my spleen and staple line and all good. Trying to keep a positive attitude but I'm having some difficulty. I was so positive post op for 4 days.
  24. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. I'm resting comfortably in my room and feeling good. Surgeon said my staple line was holding up great so I'm relieved about that.
  25. Surgery this afternoon for internal bleeding. Just left recovery ...
