Helpful tips on creamy and mushy foods

I like to add stevia (or splenda) and cinnamon to greek yogurt. That combo is also good in cottage cheese warmed up a bit. -
Today, I am more stressed. The clinic hasn't received my ECG results yet. They need to review them before surgery is a go. I don't want my June 21st date to change. Other than that, I am still eating what I'm supposed to. That soreness is a good kind. Did I ask you where in Canada you were?

Good Morning, That's great! It helps so much to enjoy what you are doing.

Scheduled June 21st, the first day of Summer and my new life. Thought I'd pop in and say hello to fellow June/Summer bandsters. Would love to have a chat thread!

Hi! Oh glad you are doing ok. I'll be on the other side next week!

I don't suppose you know of any groups in the Ottawa area? -

Every commercial on TV id about food

Last night! Darn pizza commercials... Saturday I am going to a workshop and there is guaranteed treats. Sunday, father's day and my dad's girlfriend invited us for dinner..I declined and said we'd come out and visit for the day instead. She said "oh great, we'll have lunch." I told her not to go to any trouble and she said we'll just do a bbq...Think I'll text her back and tell her I am bringing chicken breasts. They don't know about my upcoming procedure. -
I have had these feelings on and off but I felt much better reading posts on here and knowing that all this is normal. In fact, I just had another episode of "should I really do this" about 1/2 hr ago...I was getting grouchy from being hungry on the pre-op...but I read your post and then sp70's response and I feel better. Also self paid, deposit done.

That's good to hear, glad all is going good. I am heading to Toronto next week (different clinic). I am hoping I am ok enough for the 4.5 hr car ride home later that day/evening.

Oh good, one day at a time! Have fun boxing. Just curious, did you get any more put in your band? So far, pretty much the same as yesterday. I imagine I will be starving in the evening again, but I will have tea and I can have unlimited egg whites and veg, so I may make an omelet.

I did that today, it was tasty. Thanks! How are you today?

I started my pre-op this week. It hasn't been easy, but I have already found some tips. Hot tea, herbal or decaf if you are allowed..keeps your mouth busy and it's comforting. Hot baths. Reading - I read in bed, so no food. Crafts, knitting, etc if you like that. I have recently taken up knitting scarves, I also make cards and I do not want messy fingers. Games if you like them, I have a nintendo 3ds, it's handheld there are all sorts of games for all interests and ages. It keeps your hands busy and passes time quite well. Walks/exercise of any kind. This forum! It has been a huge help reading and chatting with others on here! I have also used this site to blog about my journey from the start, writing it all down helps so much. If you would rather not, maybe a private journal. If all else fails, take a nap or go to bed early. I am anxious also, but it is getting better the more I read how normal all my feelings are and that I am not alone! Good luck!

I am not there yet, but I do have a teen and yes they are pretty selfish. They just can't help it. lol Try not to let it hurt your feelings. Once you heal and feel better you can do other fun things that don't involve food, or at least better foods, and this will also set a great example for your family. That's my plan. Outings, mini-putt, hikes, swimming/beach, family game night, back yard sports - always wanted to play laser tag! etc. I was a size 2-4 at one point in my life, but I wish I knew then about eating better and activity. I try to tell my teen to be conscious of the types of foods she eats not only for her health in general, but there may come a day when it all catches up...it all caught up to me.

I got chilly so I had some tea and it helped with my hunger too. I will try those tomorrow with my salad.
