Hello my name is Jan and I am 61 and have struggled the last 5 to 6 years with my weight. I was not on the high spectrum of obesity but for me I had dieted, exercised and just could not control my portions, my fast eating and one day I said this is it. I am going to go for a consultation and see if the Lap Band could work for me. I have been banded for 19 days only and have lost 20 pounds. I do not have any saline in my band because I did have a problem a week after surgery on my 7th post op day on my post op visit they had to remove 2cc and then on the 10th day I had to go to the ER and they removed the other 2cc from my band. I have my 1st fill appt. on Wed. 6/19 this week, I will be excited to see what they fill me with. My problems I experienced was a horrible horrible pain in my stomach. I was existing off of popsicles, broth, my protein shakes and by no means was I over indulging. I never vomited but I was in so much pain after taking in 1 oz. of liquid after the 7th day that I just really thinking oh my god what have I done. So that has gotten better after the 14th day I felt almost human again and the gas pain in my left shoulder finally subsided and I was feeling good. I hope to make friends here on the forum and hope others can relate to this and we can network and become the person we want to be.
