I haven't been on here in a LONG time and had forgotten the "rules" LOL
  2. Hello, I am posting this because I am passionate about band patients.... because I am one! I was banded in June 2013 and have had good days and bad ones! I have lost about 60 pounds and have about 15 to go! One of the main things I struggled with was shakes. I know its an important part of making sure we get the nutrition we need since we can not take Vitamins and I spent soooo much money trying different ones and hated them all and finally just gave up. Therefore, I struggled with the fact that I was tired all the time and just wasn't getting all the nutrients I needed! A friend approached me about a supplement called Thrive and I liked that it was a 3 step process all done first thing in the morning... my only concern was you take 2 capsules first thing in the AM... I cant take capsules so declined at first.... Then she mentioned I could break them open and put them in a small amount of my "shake" (Lifestyle Mix) then drink the rest of the shake 30 min later... so I tried it! For a bandster that cant take capsules the process goes like this..... *** Make your Lifestyle Mix "shake" .... 1. opened 2 capsules in small amount of Lifestyle mix and drink 2. 20-40 min later drink the rest of Lifestyle Mix 3. Apply DFT (derma fusion technology) THIS is the good part... it is a "patch" that gives you time released nutrition throughout the day straight into your blood stream! These 3 easy steps and I felt better than I had ever felt on DAY ONE! Energy like no other... and no crash! Since then I have had so many benefits... I feel alive again for starters! I have clean energy all day! I don't "crave" the yucky stuff near as often! I am building muscle quicker thanks to the metabolic support! And I am just HAPPY!! Look, I know there are a ton of products out there and I don't care which one any of you choose as long as it works for you! It is so important that we have the nutrition we need! period! But if you haven't found one that works for you yet please let me help you get going with Thrive! The other great part of this is if you get 2 friends to join in with you, then you can get your product for FREE... then they do the same and all the sudden we are all THRIVING for FREE!!! coffee is my problem

Please check this out... I had my band in June 2013 and my main struggle was caffeine. It isn't that the "caffeine" itself if all that bad in small amounts but I also had to put the cream and sugar to even like it. And I had to have a tea later in the day to try and stay awake because my energy levels were soooo low. I have lost weight but I didn't "feel good" really until I found Thrive! All day energy no crashes... I haven't had coffee or any other caffeine drink in 10 weeks since being on Thrive! go to my website and check it out... or not... I want you all to know that the only reason I am putting this one here is because I am "one of you" and many struggle with the same issues an this is something that I have found that really helps me and has been a game changer for me and my husband! (he was a coffee in the morning and mountain dew in the afternoon guy until we found Thrive) http://angelastewart.le-vel.com

    Almost 9 months out WoW!

Wow!! You look great! I am 11 months out and still 15 pounds from my goal weight... have had a stall period. a little frustrating but finally found a supplement that has me feeling much better and I am going to hit that dang goal weight!! You are an inspiration! I haven't been on this site in a while and I forgot how nice it is to see the success stories! Congrats!
  7. Thats exactly how I am feeling right now.... was banded 6/20
  8. I am a benge eater and have been for years. I have done this four times since I had my surgery on June 20. I posted about it once before... and I understand that my mind hasnt changed yet but I really need someone to tell me they have been there before and still made it throught it. I think it has something to do with weighing myself too much I was following guidelines to a "T" the past ten days before yesterday and was like going up 2 down 2 up 2 down2... I dont understnad why I wasnt losing so I get down on myself and binge just like I always did before... I have had one fill but obviously not feeling any restriction. I almost wish I would get stuck and throw it up during these episodes where I would never want to do it again. I am so embarassed and sick about this. I just hope I am not the only one... i am going to call my dr and see if I can go in for an x-ray to make sure everything is still ok. anyway... feels better just writing about it, if nothing else.
  9. Thank you! yes I already have a counselor. I am not going to mess this up... I really have a love/hate relationship with food and I just want to "live" I am working on retraining my brain as well as my body to eat whats necessary... And you are right it takes time. sometimes I just need you guys to remind me of that! The bible says... "Everything is permissable, not everything is beneficial" gonna focus on those words and all of your great advice and start out tomorrow as a frest day! I have literally cried reading these... sometimes dealling with depression and this new life can be a little overwhelming... thanks again to you guys!
  10. Thank you both for the advice!! I am headed to throw the scale away right after typing this!!! It has always been my worst enemy, I dont know why I havent thought of this sooner. Getting on the scale every day or even twice a day just became a part of my life after I got to my highest weight and swore I wouldnt go any higher.... I became obsessed! thank you so much! Tomorrow is a new day and NO SCALE around here anymore.... And to the other poster yes I have a counselor and I have been treated for depression for over a year.
  11. Kind of on a different subject but when you said your friend has dilated her pouch many times. Can this fix itself? Or is it permanently damaged?
  12. I was banded on June 20... I have done great up until yesterday and today... I have lost 26 lbs. But I all the sudden don't feel any restriction. (Going for a fill tomorrow) I started my monthly "time" and on the past this was the harsest time for me with eating... and what do ya know... I screwed up yesterday and today and ate things I shouldn't eat and more than I meed to also. Right now I feel like crap physically and emotionally! ! My mental state about food has not been fully healed evem though I had the band and it won the oast two days... I am now scared I have messed something up!!! (( so sad and sick!
  13. I thought maybe thats what was going on because I was doing so good there for a while. Thank you! i go in for a fill tomorrow!

    My first fill!

I am almost 4 weeks post op and down 21.5 pounds! I get my first fill a week from today... and I am a little nervous i must say but your statement that it didnt hurt helps!
  15. I am 9 days post op and as far as hunger I am not hungry at all. I am only eating what's on the diet list. And I haven't lost a pound in like 5 days. I just don't get it. Food in general makes me nauseated most of the time. I eat only because I have no energy. I have a horrible time getting my protein because everything I have tried makes nauseous after the first time. And if I could down it I am might could do it but stupid sipping makes it impossible. I spent more money today to try one I can mix with juice so we will see but I'm pretty frustrated and feel let down right now. Everybody talks about these huge numbers of weightloss in thd first few weeks and its just not happening. I don't get it.
  16. I had my surgery this past thursday. It went well. First day home and yesterday were really rough. Very sore and very nauseated. I feel much better today other than still having some chest pains when I breath in. I am assuming this is from the hernia repair he had to do during my surgery.... anyone else have any trouble like that??? And will the gas ever stop, its up in my shoulders and hurts like crazy. I have no interest in food at all though so I guess thats a good thing!

    Nectar protein shakes...

I am interested in these... I am 6 days post-op and having a horrible time trying to get my protein in because I can not stomach everything I have tried. Very discouraged. Can I get the website please?
  18. I am also curious about this! The one thing that concerns being postop now is loose skin... I do not want that... I would love to hear any suggestions as well.

    One day left!

All those things are exactly what you need... I am 4 days post op now... and the other thing I would mention is MOVE AROUND! This has helped me so much I think... dont over do it if you feel "pain" stop but just getting up and walking around the house will help work out the soreness and GAS! lol I have two young ones too and they are at my moms for a week because they are really too young to understand... Good luck to you and God bless!

    changes

You are doing great!!! And we will all have days like that for sure... just remind yourself on those days that is just one day and we are talking a lifetime of living and being healthy... focus on the big picture! It helps me anyway! Good luck and God bless!
  21. This is day 4 post op for me as well. I still have gas pain in my chest and shoulder but it eases up every day. I feel like if I could burp one time really big it would go away..lol..sad thing is I dont know how! My nurse from surgery just called to check on me though and said the gas would go away on its on even if i cant "get it out" lol. Prolly in the next day or two. I also have no appetite. which is nice during this part when I cant really have anything good anyway. I am having a hard time even wanting my protien shakes because they are nasty even when your hungry and without being hungry I sure dont want them. I know they are important though so a friend mentioned just sipping and putting back in the fridge and sipping as the day goes on... gonna try that. I also do the greek yogurt which has a good amount of protein. Good luck to you all I am 5lbs down from day of surgery weight and 14lbs from my highest.

    Dresses are longer

I would say YES that means your booty and your tummy and possibly your "ladies up top" are taking up as much room and making it shorter lol... Sounds like your doing great! Good luck on your continued journey!
  23. I love these posts I am 4 days post op and really excited and a bit scared all at the same time. There is no room for failure this is my chance and it was an expensive one so here we go! i do have one question.. I have never heard the term "slider foods" will someone please explain this to me... THanks for your great posts experienced banders!
