I'm humbled to know I put a smile on anyone's face. Thank you for reading my posts!!! Don't even remind me of STEAK! I'm really sure I won't be able to have any after my last fill, but it's ok, I can live with that (for now). Last Summer, about a month and a half after surgery- you know, that time when you have lost more than ten pounds and have this sudden burst of confidence and you think you can do EVERYTHING you couldn't do before (including wearing a bathing suit) yeah, during that time I threw myself down a slide at the Water park and made a damn fool of myself..... Mostly because I don't know how to swim. Apparently, I can't even find my footing in a 3ft pool at the end of a slide either. LoL.
It's a great feeling having that "1" in front.... You'll get there!!

I saved your posting to read last because you always make me smile. I really enjoy you enjoying life. when I had read the headline of course I thought you ate a 8 oz steak or something and it didn't get stuck. one of my three things I want to do when I reach goal is to go to a Water park and slide down the slides. so I identify with this. good going.

I'm sure some of you know Skymoon1982- aka Melanie from YouTube. This is EXACTLY the reason why I didn't hesitate last week and IMMEDIATELY went to the ER when I got "stuck" while drinking coffee after an aggressive fill. I was so scared my band would slip. I feel for her, but she waited TOO DAMN LONG. Now she had no band.

Lenna, I think it's a combination of poor education AND patients not doing their homework in conjunction with total disregard & abuse of the band. Frankly, I don't think my original bariatric team was very educational. The nutritionist didn't really go into detail of all the things that could go wrong if you abuse it. Almost all I know is from my own research and reading lots of success & failure stories. The phycologist didn't discuss that the band wasn't gonna "keep" me from eating and that it was a large percentage gonna still be a mental battle. The three group meeting i attended barely discussed life after the band- they focused on the pre op diet. But thank God I ended up having my surgery with the best team in NY at NYU.

It was a cloudy but BEAUTIFUL day in NYC today. The windy conditions made it THAT much better... But the icing on the cake was when I slid down the slide at the playground, and did not get stuck, instead, I slid pretty quickly! Thank you, BANDid life!!

My dinner... broth with chunks of cream cheese. Got my fat intake for the day!

It's jut like chicken broth but with pork ribs. I stir fry the meat while at the same time boiling Water in a separate pot. Then, I add the boiling water to the mean and let it simmer/boil for about an hour. It's much more filling and better tasting than broth from a can

'With regards to my surgery, and I am sure its me to which you were referring, I felt I didn't want to tell the world about it just yet. The limited few that do know, have by in large respected that privacy.
With all due respect, my surgery is a private matter, one of which I wanted to tell people in my own good time. I am disappointed that you feel because I've had surgery, that I am now no longer worthy of 'being looked up to'. In consideration of this point, I would like you to know that I had recently presented with a number of serious health problems of which long term and had I not taken action, would have developed into significantly debilitating issues. Subsequently and on the recommendation of my medical team, i took the very difficult decision to undergo a serious operation to increase my long term health prospects.
I don't expect you to understand this predicament, as its easy to make assumptions about weight loss surgery. However and as my friend, I had hoped you would have extended the courtesy to talk to me about it first, before posting something which has fundamentally hurt me.
Given the decision I had to make and the surgical procedure and diet I now have to endure, this has in no way been easy and your comment left me and my efforts, undermined. I am saddened by this.
I hope this clarifies my position for you and if there's anything you'd like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me directly.'
