Thank you for sharing your story, and I'm so glad you were strong enough to overcome all those trials and come out a champion. I'm wondering if that's the reason why we are required to go on a two week preOp liquid diet (to shrink the liver). My sister had the sleeve done and her doctor did NOT request that.

I also had plans to travel two and a half weeks after surgery... But I canceled.

I'm exactly one week post and last night was the first night I was able to get in/out of bed without trouble. Yesterday I went out with my family for a few hours and today as well. Seems like you're right on tract, hunny!

I see it in my face and FEET!

I had difficulty drinking during the first three days; I would get out of breath while taking small sips (not anymore). I still take little sips. I would be held over without feeling hungry for about five hours with my Boost shake... I suddenly was getting hungry much earlier 3-3.5 hours, the I realized its because the GNC shakes are not as filling as the Boost... Guess I need to make another trip to Bj's to get more boost.

I'm happy to say, last night wa the FIRST night that I could get in/out of bed with no problem... In fact, I got out of bed (unnecessarily) about five times (to check the doors were locked, to make sure I put the dog's food bowl away, to open a window & so forth) it felt good to be close to my normal self.

I'm at the verge of TEARS! I'm missing the hospital bed so much. I can't find a comfortable spot on my bed I need SLEEP!

Please tell me y'all are having CRAZY VIVID dreams after surgery. It must be medication.

Yeah! Last night I dreamt there were two witches after me, my sister saved me with some potion she put together, only to be killed by a fallen witch. WEIRD!!

If you're not ready POSTPONE it! It doesn't mean you will never get it, it just means you need more time. You're not the only one... I have a friend who should have had it in June. She's waiting till the end of August to do it. PLEASE, talk to your surgeon. There is no shame in needing more time to come to terms with this life-changing step. Once you do it, there is no turning back. And as far as support goes, you should be your biggest supporter. Look for people OUTSIDE your family to give you the support you lack at home. I'm sure there are support groups that meet near you. GOOD LUCK!! Be blessed

I feel this weird movement in my belly near the port incision. I doubt it's "gas". The only think I can equate it to is the movements babies make inside the womb.... Like a "rolling" movement. Has anyone else experience this???

Sorry, guys, I meant SHOWERS!! LoL Anywayyyyy, I had my first shower since last FRIDAY today.... Boy, did that Water feel good! I also washed my hair and made sure no head water went on my incisions. I could not take anymore sponge baths... I needed a shower desperately! And guess what..... After that I felt rejuvenated and strong! I even went to BestBuy to get the fridge filter AND, when it was time to get into bed, it was a piece of cake!!
