Same thing happened to me. As a rule of thumb, I set my timer for every four hours; however, if it has been only three hours since i last had something to eat and I'm hungry, I eat a controlled portion of something HIGH in protein, like cottage cheese or an egg.

Yeah, if there's a time to be strict about your diet, it the first four-six weeks when you're healing. Good luck and CONGRATZ on the 20lbs! -

Try Boost High Protein... Although its kinds sweet, it tastes really good. -
My port site is SORE!!!! And black & blue... Nurse said he had a little difficulty finding the spot for the needle, but now he knows exactly where it's at (for next time). I wouldn't say I FEEL restriction, but I know sometimes it takes a few days to feel it. Back in three weeks for another fill. Eggs & cottage cheese sound really good right about now. LoL.

Self Doubt: I need a pep talk!
HotButterFly replied to TheCurvyMermaid's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Take baby steps, darling! And don't worry, we ALL have our doubts every once in a while. By baby steps I mean take it 10 lbs at a time. Set a goal to lose the next TEN LBS ONLY, so that you're not overwhelmed with the big number. I have about 90 pounds more to go but I'm focusing on my next 10. My goal is to be 210 by September 28 (anniversary) if its more than that, well, that's just icing on the cake; however, anything less than that would be unacceptable!! Push on, honey, you're gonna be successful because you REALLY WANT THIS and you really DESERVE this!! XOXOXOXO -

Hospital Stay After GastricBanding
HotButterFly posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This post is inspired by a private conversation I had with someone on this forum. Normally gastric banding is an out-patient procedure unless a hernia is removed during surgery. Weeks before my surgery hubby insisted I stayed over night. I really didn't like the idea, but I didn't disagree with him, thinking/planning to convince him the the day of, that I was fine to go home, and hoping that he would forget by then. However, he did NOT forget and insisted I stayed. When he was telling the nurse, I kinda remembered how nine years earlier, I wished I had stayed one more night in the hospital after giving birth, so I said: OK, I'LL STAY.... And let me tell you guys, it was the BEST decision I made!! When the day of your surgery comes, don't be afraid to ask your nurse/doctor to call your insurance and request that you stay over night. You have to tell them that you don't feel that great and you'd like to stay one night. TRUST ME, you'll be glad you did. -
