Doing better and STILL focused even with an empty band. I lost two pounds on an empty band and I'm fast approaching wonderland. When I DO reach it, it will be a great accomplishment because I know some people start gaining right way. Thanks!!

*WAVES THE CONSPIRACY THEORIST'S FLAG* Consumers are being bombarded with genetically modified organisms and we don't even have the right to choose because the powers that be don't make labeling GMOs mandatory. I wouldn't trust "studies" done by the same people who are producing this venom/poison, and I wouldn't trust the government who's in the pocket of said people.

Congratulations to BOTH of you on your perseverance!!

I think this is the best one yet: I'm no longer the LAST to be ready when we are getting ready for any particular outing because I don't have to try on 50 different combination to end up wearing the same pants I did the day before. And that's considering I STILL haven't gone clothes shopping, so all I have is the big stuff I've been wearing, the ones I've had a chance to take in, AND THE ONES THAT DIDNT FIT YET!!!! Today I waited for hubby outside and asked him if he was ready about 5 times. -

I'm glad you know, Carol, and I would go to them (and DO) in a heartbeat again (for anything other than bariatrics) but to be HONEST... They should have been better prepared.... They HAVE a weigh loss program there O_O Teaching patients to do unfilled is NOT a good idea... I'm sure you know WHY

At my sleep study now...
HotButterFly replied to LadyJ314's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to a sleep study about 5 years ago...... I. Didn't. Sleep. Not. One. Second. It was so frustrating!! First, I had to "go to sleep" at 10pm.... Like WHO DOES THAT?!! THIS IS NYC!! Then, with all that crap they put on you.... Yeah, right! I barely sleep with panties on! (That was another thing, I was in PAJAMAS!! Uuuggggggg! -

LMAOOOO! Thank you for the laughs! I know that little bastard all too well.... I have t seen him around my way in MONTHS, but if he ever finds the courage to stroll by with a menacing demeanor, I put a lap band around his bastard little head faster than I would have eaten it in my previous life! -

Shazam, maybe I'll try it on today... Who knows? It might already fit. -
Hey, y'all!! I didn't respond sooner because I was in a morphine-induced haze the whole day [Friday]. What an ordeal!!! Don't even know where to start! Maybe I should start with the fact that the first doctor that tried couldn't find the spot went to get another needle and came back to tell me that was the last one (did I already say this??) anywayyyyy, they said I had to wait till 5am for the warehouse to open. While I waited, doo-doo hit the fan a couple of times: it was excruciating when the pain meds wore off but my nurse was an angel- and I told her so. So 5 am comes and goes, I lost tract of time. Then they were talking about a cat-scan to make sure there was no relapse, when they already had said there WASN'T.... I told them they can do WHATEVER they wanted (even a GYN could come and give me one of those pleasant examinations) AFTER I was emptied and not before (there was no way I was gonna let them waste more time) at a point I was so frustrated I even got up from the stretcher and told my nurse to print out my discharge papers, that I was gonna go HOME and die- I didn't intended on dying there. (LoL) that was just a tactic and it WORKED. So God knows at what time (my phone had died at this point and my charger was in the car) two more guys came with needles and since my port is a bit tilted the couldn't find it. FINALLY, they went to get the head of bariatrics (it was about 7:30am) and he found it instantly. Immediate relieve!!!!!! At this point I was so scared because it had been more than 12hrs, that I BEGGED him to empty me out completely (funny how we change our minds in a matter of hours) I was discharged at 8am. I got dressed and went to the waiting area, not wanting to call hubby back, who had left just a few hours before (and who was in the same hospital the day before having lithotripsy) but I was still pretty drugged up. After a while I asked if I could go back in and sleep it out on a stretcher and I was allowed. It felt good to finally sleep because all that time I wasn't able to get any shut-eye, even with all that morphine. I slept for 4 hours until hubby woke me up with a HUGE smile. Thank you so much for caring guys, you are definitely cool peeps!! The hospital I was in is Maimonedes in Brooklyn. I really am NOT bad-mouthing them because I love that hospital for many reasons- they are the best thing in BK. They were just unprepared and I guess these things sort of happen. I have to be on liquids for two weeks, or so they say. Monday I call my surgeon and tell her all that went on.

Like its not even the same person!! -
If I tell you what happened you'd probably think im in Canada.... The surgeon comes pokes me and doesn't find the needle. She says she gonna get the other guy and I tell her to leave it IN. She takes it out.... It takes them about 15 to come back to tell me they are out of needles and have to send for some from their warehouse. And I'm still here puking & in pain.

Thank you
-
Yep! I won't let anyone who's not trained touch me. By any chance, do you know the kind of needle used? If not, I'll have them call NYU and find out... I've been through enough for two days to have something else go wrong. And they better not think of taking everything out.... Now THAT I would fight teeth & nails

HEY GUYS!!! I'm posting from an ER bed. It's annoying explaining whats going on to a doctor that doesn't know squat about bariatrics, when you could hardly breath. Waiting on a surgeon. THANK YOU ALL!! you're absolutely right..... That episode last night portably left me pretty irritated and today's fill SHOULD have waited.... Lesson learned.

I got a MAJOR stuck epi [the worse I've EVER had] precisely on the night before my first job interview in a loooong time. Ggrrrrrr. Worse of all it was with a piece of meat the size of a distal phalanx (first section of our fingers) and a baby spoon of rice. Thankfully, everything came out after one hour *mostly THROUGH MY NOSE. The rice grains were whole, for the most part, but the chicken was pretty beat up so I'm calling the rice the culprit. And may I add.... I'm scheduled for a fill tomorrow. Made myself some hot tea. Hopefully I'm not irritated.

I'm glad you're feign better. The longest I've been stuck is 20 minutes.... Can't imagine spending hour stuck. -
For the most part, surgeons don't do follow-up phone calls. They should have told you to call and make an appointment.... Usually they want to see you two weeks after surgery. And, yes, you shouldn't be eating ANYTHING solid yet.
