"More, next and else"...the 3 little one syllable words which describe my lifelong struggle with food and weight control and the lack, thereof. I am 70 years old and have just chosen to pursue vertical sleeve gastrectomy as a tool to finally get my vitality and body back.
Not that I will be bikini material...but I will love wearing so many of the small clothes in my closets and don't even care if they aren't stylish now...I will be thrilled to move down the line of sizes...3x...18...14...10...and perhaps even back to 6 petites...it could happen! But I will be satisfied with 10s...and feeling my energy again.
Just ordered a couple books on the sleeve.
Had my first appointment at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Ma. yesterday. Met with nutritionist, nurse practitioner (wonderful, dear woman named Pam) and a psychologist/musician. I had a great day!
Today I began a food log as I need to take off 15-18 lb. prior to my surgery, which I hope will happen in September. I also bought myself some children's sized silverware...baby spoons and forks for 'baby' sized bites to help me get ready for post surgery eating. And some insulated storage containers. Next week I will join a heath club and begin exercising 5 times a week.
I am excited. I did my due diligence researching options, and feel good about the decision. More to come!!
