First few weeks? Failure?
bnrguy34 replied to Bandakat412's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is different I know women lose it slower than men do also because of hormones and how much weight did you need to lose that is a big factor . I am a guy and was at 380 before the band and I had my surgery may 23 the weight dropped off me like the first two weeks I lost 24 pounds since then only 6 pounds and I bet I am much more overweight than you too so I think you are doing about normal.Dont worry what everyone else is doing your friend could lose it all now and in another month you could just blow past her important thing is not to give up and stay motivated don't set a goal too high set a monthly goal not a weekly goal and remember be realistic. -
I am newly banded but right now I can only eat puree stuff and soft foods .

bnrguy34 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all newly banded here just a little over two weeks and I have not stayed on my diet much of that time I am extremely worried about my band and pouch. I keep trying to eat right and the start of the day I keep on it the later it gets the harder it gets I really need the feeling of fullness I had when I first got the band I stuck to my diet perfect when that happened. I am not sure how someone with control of portion issues is supposed to get the will power all of a sudden to be able to do this eat 4 oz every thirty minutes stuff any ideas or help of any kind. Any stories of support or hope I really want to lose weight for my family but I am sooo worried that I am doing more harm than good please any one with anything helpful please respond getting desperate here . -

Anyone newly banded and having a horrible time following the diet?
bnrguy34 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there I just had my band done may 23 and I am having a horrible time following the diet since I have lost the feeling of fullness since my swelling has gone down. I am in Greeley and my doctor is dr johnell I am supposed to have only liquids for 2 weeks right now and then one week of puree foods then one week soft then finally real food . Is anyone else finding this really hard since my lack of eating control is what made me need this tool in the first place now I have to follow a diet so strict and hard most people that don't love food I don't think could do this .Any help or helpful comments or advice would be much appreciated. I think if I can make it through this month or so I can make it but without the feeling of being satisfied this is hard. I want to know if anyone else out there has some tricks of ideas on help with the lack of eating and fullness. At the very beginning it was not so hard because I did not feel good and I was full now it is like impossible . Thanks for your positive input and comments and I hope I can help anyone with anything I have learned so far which is not a whole lot but I will help where I can . -
Hey I really appreciate the feedback I when I posted this I also went on the live chat and was met with a bunch of people who were not very supportive and said nothing that will help me.Just negative and asked me if I had a mental screen before surgery so made me feel crazy on top of everything else. just wanted to say thanks for the kind and helpful words and not make me feel like a failure . We are addicted to food if I could control my eating I would not have needed this surgery I was just surprised with the comments from everyone earlier thanks a lot hockey I really needed this . Hope you have a wonderful day and all goes well with your progress.

Ok so here goes nothing I have only been banded for almost 2 weeks now and it is miserable and I am not sure I can do it. My fullness feeling has left me for about 3 days now and I felt like I could eat things that were not on my diet. I am worried I have caused a problem for my self I did call my doctor about the feeling of no fullness and he said that was normal. But he does not know I have completely screwed up my diet already not really portion size I think that is still about right but I can drink lots and no problems and have been drinking pretty normal maybe not quite as much but some what. I am afraid to tell him I have done this and that I have messed my band up .Did anyone else feel this way before your first fill and what did you eat the everyday stuff not follow the diet progression and are you ok .Do you think if I stop I will be ok or does anyone think I should be worried or what I am lost and scared please help me I love to eat and now without the restriction it is hard to only drink liquids and I am not sure I am strong enough please help me ....I also have ate some pizza just 1 piece and that was just the top layer and no crust or underneath and I also have eaten some chips that one hurt a little wont do that again. This is hard watching everyone else go on as normal while u eat nothing just drink what should I do .................
