Okay so i went and seen my pcp she had me do a bunch of lab work.. she sent over my referral got a call about 3 days later and now im scheduled for the a 4 hour orientation where i meet the surgery team!! So excited all this happend in one week!!

Oh wow thats better than the 24weeks in some places

Hello i am going through kaiser richmond ca. I went in on tuesday 9/15/18 my referral done the same day. The wls team called me for orientation TODAY 9/18/15!!!! So my orientation is scheduled for ThurSday 9/24/15!!! 7:45Aam to 12noon i will be meeting with the surgeons, dietitian, case manager, basically the whole team. Im excited even though i really dont have a support system yet. I haven't really told anyone im getting wls because i. Am afraid of rejection and negativity.. but anywho i am excited to be starting this journey!!! It seems like things are rolling along!!!

I just want to feel normal period!! So glad for everyone changing their lives for the better!!

Wow congrats hun i pray a fast recovery!!!! Yaayy!!! I just started my process my dr sent my referral over did my lab work now waiting to hear back!!! I dont know how this all works so im jist praying i have a speedy productive processing

Oh i did the orientation already but with john muir.. but i signed up for another orientation through kaiser on September 23

I hear it all depends on the pcp as far as how fast the process is. Ive been hearing so many timelines and pre op preparations it would be nice if someone could share thier entire experience from start to finish dealing with Kaiser north cal. I will most likely be having my surgery done in richmond ca. I got my referral from my doc. She set me up for lab work.. did that... now its a waiting game she said someone will get back to me. My bmi is 52!!! I am so ready to get this weight off!!!

Anyone know how kaiser works??

I avoid public places so i wont embarrass my self by not being able to fit in a chair and the stares i get from people

Hello all my breaking point Ive had a couple people as me to stand in front of them to block them from people they were hiding from.. My bp has gone up 20 to 30 points Its hard for me to walk and i have pain in my legs and ankles. I have back problems Im miserable which causes me to lash out verbally to my loved ones. I cant get on any of the rides so i dont even attempt to go to the amusement parks. One time in 2009 we went to six flags and i was told i was to big to get on the ride!!! I cried my eyes out!!!! I have low energy most times. I have to talk my self into getting up off the couch!!!! I have to count and kind heaveho my way up off the couch!!! Im insecure with the way i look THIS IS NOT ME AT ALL. im tired of people STARING at my big arms while holding a conversation and im tired of people treating me like i am less than

I would like to know how long is the whole process?? From the time you went in for the information meeting to surgery?? Also how long did it take until you could exercise again?? Btw..I've been in this group lurking and I must say you all are such an INSPIRATION TO ME..

This is a great post! I am in the medical field as well and being on my feet.. sometimes lifting etc is physically draining.. so I feel as a healthcare provider?? We have to be physically and mentally on our feet..

So how long did the whole process take??

I'm fat because I eat large portions and I don't exercise as much as I should.. I've gotten comfortable with being fat but I don't wanna be fat anymore so I'm doing something about it<3
