Hey i am getting my band the 18th and just have a few questions... How long did you wait to drink again after getting the band?? What do you like to drink....? --out of curiosity. Those that can drink beer...what kind? I really love microbrews from a brewery here and im just curious if some of u can still handle that?? If u cant handle beer what happened when u tried it? Do you feel tipsy a lot faster than u used to??? i am assuming so but some people are lightweights in the 1st place. im not i can drink a lot lol. THANK YOU FOR YOU THOUGHTS....

I just tried a new shake its so good!!! 6oz soy milk 1/3 frozen banana 2 scoops chocolate Protein 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter i also threw in a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt b/c i like ita little thicker. its sooooo good and i dont even like peanut butter! haha. something different than the plain ones ive been having. also u should peel the banana before u freeze it. its kinda hard to peel when its frozen

paul... i have heard that some cant handle beer but i can just fine! ive had no problems with it. also hard alcohol goes down great i just went to vegas a couple weeks ago and all i did was drink there and it was ok. the only thing i stopped taking was shots. because i dont have much food to soak up alcohol i drink a lot slower!

Is this carbonated? Has anyone had it and been ok? I havent tried ANYTHING carbonated yet, but I am going to a Mariners baseball game next weekend, just wondering if this is something I can drink since I havent tried beer....let me know if u have tried and whether u had problems or not. I mean, they serve wine at the game but I would just feel weird. lol

I was at a party at a friends and this guy and i were flirting-- he is actually pretty hott. and i have this friend that is PERFECT (she was in a bikini 2 weeks after having her kid!) and we were drinking a lot lol and he goes "You are so gorgeous, if you were the same size as jaclyn i would F*ck you right now" I really didnt know what to say?? compliment? insult??? i laugh at it now...

SO i tried cheating. i know...horrible. But anyway i took 2 bites of chicken (i am on liquids/mush) and OH WOW it was the MOST HORRIBLE PAIN i have ever had. i thought i was going to have a heart attack! lol I was driving and I swore it was going to get caught and I would have to try and give myself the heimlick manuever!! it was horrible. Then I puked it up. ew. I wont ever cheat again and I dont recommend it!

Going to my psych eval was weird but kinda fun. The doc ended up thinking i am spoiled and pretty conceited but whatever. I love myself and I am not ashamed of it. I just told him when I wanted something I couldnt have I would look forward to the end result.

Being in Radiology we have to move a lot of patients around and lift them etc. I told my instructor that I had surgery not what kind though. It is no ones business if I dont want to tell them. And when they asked what kind i just said "just surgery" they got the hint and said "say no more" . I dont see how they could kick u out of the program, I mean what if you had to have emergency surgery of some sort? Anyway, good luck!!!

Hey I was kinda in the same situation. I am in Radiology school so I had to go to my clinicals 4 days after surgery on a Monday. It was rough but I made it thru the whole day. Though Tuesday the techs sent me home cuz they said I looked so miserable. they gave me 2 days off and I went back fine on Thursday. You will be tired but probably be able to make it!

i had a really rough preop diet as well. basically water, crystal light, jello, popcicles and broth. it sucks. still doing it after the surgery.,, BUT i was pretty proud when the doc told me how good and soft and easy to work with my liver was, i was glad i stuck to it (OK well i cheated ONCe and ate at a wedding and had 2 beers but thats it it will be worth it in the end!!

i am so glad this was posted. i feel like i could eat anything and im 2 weeks out. i wasnt sure if that was normal or because i dont have my restriction yet. i dont really eat much cuz im supposed to be on a liquid diet still for 2 more weeks. but i dont freak if i get some bites of food with my soup either. im glad its normal.

i make an orange protein shake. i have vanilla protein powder and i mix it with OJ in my magic bullet! tastes like a creamscicle!

yeah i get soup at work everyday and no one even notices that i just eat the brothy part!!!

i had a hard time coming up with stuff to eat on liquids but my mom made this... v8 juice with a bouillien (however u spell it) cube melted into it with shredded cheese completely melted in it. LIFE SAVER. love it!

i have had the powder in the bag. the 1st time i had it was disgusting. i mixed it with water and its hard to mix throughly. now i mix it in my magic bullet and its pretty good. i do vanilla with orange juice its so good like a cream sicle!

i had a raspberry mocha frapp LIGHT yesterday it was SO GOOD. mmm. its only 160 cal.

i stayed over night. cant imagine it any other way. my nurses were amazing.

I am RIGHT THERE with you! It was also my 1st day of liquids and i am DYING. ew i feel like i want to puke up all this liquid! its disgusting! I have a few days less than yours, mine is 10 days. but post op is 4 weeks! oh the horror!

i just went to my pre op...dont have the band yet. but they told us not to eat chips & popcorn. problem is that the acid in the mouth breaks them down quickly so u can eat a LOT of them. doc said he had a pt that could eat a whole bag of popcorn no problem everynight which really slowed down her weight loss. he said a good plan is to drink a big glass of water before eating so that you are already getting fuller. just thought i would share that stuff i just learned!

Hey guys!!! I got my surgery date it's July 18th!!!!! My birthday is the 20th so its an early present for me!!!! How long did you guys take to get back to your normal life?? I HAVE to be back to school on the 23rd so that only gives me 4 days which I am a little nervous about but hopefully I will be ok. lol.... Cheyanne

So my mom woke me up this morning at 8AM to tell me that I AM APPROVED for the lap band....just got a letter from the ins! so first thing monday morning i am calling to make my appt! I AM SO HAPPY!!! this is what i look like now...i tried to find some unflattering pics because i have become pretty good at making myself look better in pics than real life. lol. so cant wait to have pics a few months after i get my band! YAY i am just so excited!...dont mind the hair changes lol i get bored! :clap2: <3Cheyanne
