    Just Starting The Lap Band Journey

    Agreed with the great people in the above response who help me continuously through this journey . Preop diet depends in doctor . I knew it would be liquids for post op so I jumped full force I to liquids for 2 week preop to see if I could mentally handle it. I didn't want to go through surgery and mess it up. I survived and got banded July 1,2013 the best decision I had made in my entire life! First week after surgery discomfort but manageable listen to ur body I pushed myself a bit to much but quickly learned to take it slow. Walk to relieve that awful gas. By day 13 I was fine back to work and life Fills no problem first one feels funny but the dr never had a problem with my port. I think it takes me more time to park and get up to the office in the elevator then the fill itself lol . Fill is like 1 minute or less and I use the majority of the visit to ask questions about what in going through and make sure in following the rules. I have only had 3 or 4 fills. We (me and the dr) feel I don't need then I'm staying satiated for 3-4 hours and losing consistently . Although I loved dropping 10lbs a month and have slowed down to 2-5 lbs a month but that's ok in learning . I dint become almost 300lvs overnight and I'm not going to lose it over night. Come on this forum and read mostly everyone here has been wonderful and supportive we understand we have had the sane fears doubts triumphs and failures. I find lots of comfort on this site.

    I'm sure someone else had posted this but it amazed me today as I was getting dressed and my bra only has two hooks not 4 lol . It hits me every once in a while that wow I'm shrinking normal bras underwear n clothes no more plus size stores !! Even when I fold laundry I double look at the smaller size clothes lol

    Now I see why my trainer requires a day of rest lol tired today looking forward to my off weekend kinda ... Ran 9.0 mph on treadmill sprints today . At the gym still amazes as tired as I am I drag my ass out of bed n went to class . Glad I did but sitting at work wishing I was back in bad but not regretting the workout lol

    Tried this kettle bell n kickboxing class today awesome workout my sweat was sweating !!! Great workout n then I painted my deck around the pool right after class holy cow a year ago this would never have happened

    Did 60 mins trx then my cardio/weight class and sprinted on treadmill starting at 8 mph ending at 9 mph it was breath taking but I pushed and did it. Told one of the girls to make sure if the Emt had to come to revive me cause I thought I was gonna pass out (joking kinda it was tough workout ) to make sure she put lipgloss on me so when I pass out and all I would still look cute lol 2 hrs workout today kicked my ass n I loved it sure will sleep like a baby today

    Slowly but surely

    I take monthly pictures to remind me of what I looked like and my progress. Down 100 lbs and sometimes I still don't see it yes I know it's crazy but I didn't "see" me at 297 the same way I don't see me at 197 but the pictures they don't lie. My weight at it highest I still liked myself n thought I looked great dressed fashionable for my size etc ... So I do t see the loss at times still in shock when I pick up a large shirt and size 12 jeans and it fits I was a 18/20 3x shirt n 22/24 pants last year. But the pictures keep me grounded and I am 2/3 towards my goal and enjoy each NSV and watching that scale move downward . The weeks when it doesn't move or nice slowly I look at what I have accomplished so far and it helps to keep me motivated. So take pictures galore and buy a cute yet cheap outfit in the size u think u will be for ur Cali trip now bc it will fit for ur trip because you are doing this !!!!

    Had to have one if the trainers at the gym repeat this line" you are fit you can do that " hellooo are you talking to me ??? I still see myself as struggling or as the gym newbie but I guess not a year later I'm fit wth I still can't wrap my head around it . Spent a 1/2 he after this leg workout trying to figure out my workout schedule for the holiday weekend n following week/weekend bc I can't do my normal routine n I'm getting nervous about missing a work out. Last year at this time I was probably obsessing over what I'm making for a BBQ whose BBQ I'm going to n what to eat now it's all about the workout. Kid you not me n two people from the gym confirm n plan our workouts together n I wouldn't change it for the world .

    May 14 197 May 21 197.6 ( up from 196 on May 19 eating out two nights in a row no good dam salty food) 197.6 surpassed my May goal but still have another week to make a new number for month if may !!!

    Yesterday I uped the speed on the treadmill as we sprinted . My trainer was splitting the class up 1/2 to sprint on spin bikes 1/2 to sprint on treadmill the athletic people on treadmills me athletic wth had a huge smile inside as I was in the athletic group. To bad my myzone hrm monitor doesn't like me . My trainer says my boobs get in the way so I out it on my back n I guess I have no heartbeat lol it doesn't record the whole class Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong ? I wet the strap before I put it on.

    Ran again today on treadmill pushing myself harder than last time my heart rate monitor crapped out on me think I m doing something wrong. Order an underarmour wonderwoman shirt for my mud run end of June cause in wondering who this new woman is lol but I love it

    Went to gym today for that mixed cardio weight training class again and yup I sprinted in the treadmill and made the speed higher than then trainer first suggested I couldn't believe it myself. My trainers are awesome !!!! They encouraged n nurtured me that now I Believe I can do it. My heart rate was through the rough I think my myzone monitor was in shock. It felt awesome can't wait for that class again in wed the instructor on Tuesday doesn't let us do treadmill sprints. Crappy pity party week for me and I knew this workout was the answer it changed my mood and mind frame. In the past maybe a gallon of ice cream was my vice when stressed or overwhelmed so grateful that has changed by my choice love the gym high and mood changer it is .

    Hate the attention from my weight loss

    I kept the people who knew to a bare Minimum but whenever people know you are on a diet they ask how come it's acceptable to ask but while we were gaining no one well at least not in my life ask how much are you gaining. The gaining comment is rude how come the lossing comments are not considered equally as rude. People who never had this struggle will never understand . Follow drs orders you need to eat to lose as well eat the right food and portions n love and the weight will come off. Great job on the loss so far !!!

    Thanks everyone ... I do smile and say thank you and usually answer the how much question with "a nice amount "and then I laugh inside when the day what like 50 -60-70etc n I say a nice amount and I don't tell anyone (well except for my people here and my nearest and dearest in real life if they ask) and like here my real life nearest and dearest just accept me fat slimmer cranky happy etc Yes the first few weeks and months of people who knew especially a family friend who is I say jealous of my surgery secretly wants the band but feels her age gets in the way. I say an excuse to change I tell her we range in ages here n she cave n meet my surgeon with me n he told her the same .. Sorry for the side track convo 52 yes new people don't know my old body and I kinda like that too. To me I'm just me heavy or slim I'm still the same:) Happy Monday all...     Had to not listen to my trainer and spin today 2 days of non gym going was to over gherkins for me lol go figure. My schedule dictated 2 days in a row of missing the gym. I'm fixing that for this week.
