Good luck and great job on seeking help. I had a bit of anxiety first time going out with people who don't know I was banded . Alot of people don't know and you know what no one cared about what I ate and when people comment on my weight loss I give them half the tricks 1000-1200 calories a day n working out .

Don't freak out and don't be embarrassed . No one needs to kno about your band and a good doctor will guide ur fills appropriately. I was banded 7/1/13 got my first fill 7/29/13,and am doing fine. The follow up fills and care from what I read makes getting the band successful. Don't let your fear of the unknown get in the way of this amazing journey to your new lifestyle .

Banded July 1 and a week later I went shopping with my sister and her kids. I found a DKNy dress in size 18w for 15 bucks. Post surgery I was a 22w (maybe 24) but I wouldn't buy larger than a 22. I saw that coral dress n it was a steal at 15 bucks. I bought it for my trip to Vegas in September in hopes it would fit (kept receipt in bag had 6 months to return just in case i love Macys !!! ) anyway Well I tried it on yestedat 1 month to the day I bought it and it fits ... It fits and looks nice it might be a lil big next month but ill get the sucker tailored . I'm super happy and wanted to share my 2nd first NSV... The first one was walking Into an all tone favorite bakery and had no Desire to purchase a dam thing to eat . Ordered the cake I needed for a party n left empty handed... A first !!!! I needed to share with my lap band family because my real world friends and family get happy but don't see the joy way we do:)

You can't fix the past just try and make better choices today . We all have bad days at least I do but I try and remember why I got banded and what I want to accomplish .... Don't beat urself up. Today is a new day aim for more water

You can do this. You will so busy entertaining food will be an after thought. You will be able to have those delicious foods once you hit solids in moderation so it's not no forever just more like ill catch you later drink lots of water and good luck

As far as people saying you can lose it by yourself well I say if I could of I would of I needed help n that's why I chose this tool n trust me its crazy how I'm ok with 1 yogurt fir breakfast or feel satisfied after 4 oz of protein it has changed my life . I don't obsess over when is my next meal I eat when hungry n make good choices its kinda odd but in a good way ..

I felt the same way . I got banded on 7/1/13 and I was nervous all the way up to the surgery. U thought long and hard. Even said I can drop these 100 lbs without the surgery if I just tried harder. I have been trying fir the past 28 years and it never worked:/. I had the band mainly cause it is reversible if god forbid something bad happened. I follow my drs guidelines and listen very careful to his suggestions. Being 100 l s overweight I'm at risk for heart attack and other disease so I decided I'm going to get the band worried about its complications yet this weight is a ticking time bomb so that's how I decided. I don't have children I'm 38years old so ill just wait till I'm 42 to get my tummy tuck if no children by then lol. This site is awesome for encouragement I read post everyday. 1 month post up down 30 Lbs and feeling great so far so good!!! Only you can decide try a pro/cons list and see if that helps. Good luck on ur decision
