    Waiting... Waiting...

    Yep, I'm waiting with you!

    Fourth Fill and Phentermine

If my doctor gave it to me, I would take it. I never had any issue with phentermine other than it knocking out my appetite. I certainly wouldn't want to dump my doctor over him trying to do something to help. That is much better than having a doc that says, "you SHOULD be losing weight. The surgery isn't failing you, YOU are failing the surgery."
  3. There can be complications with any weight loss surgery, seems to me its more likely than not. I had a RNY 11 years ago. I never made it anywhere close to my goal and have horrid dumping issues. One of my best friends had the Sleeve done 6 months ago, and she regrets her surgery. She is sick all of the time and she has lost a lot of her hair. I know people who have had the band, and had it removed. The issue is, the reason we have weight loss surgery is because we need help, or a tool. Before my RNY, I could lose weight, but would gain it back, plus more. Now, at least I don't gain as easily. I'm thankful for that!
  4. I'm having a band over bypass in October. My stoma (exit out of the pouch) is so large, my pouch is like part of my intestine. Everything just drops on through. When I started 11 years ago, I needed to lose 200 lbs and only lost 90ish. In the last year, I have lost more because of stomach issues due to rapid emptying. I'm excited to finally have restriction again! I wish your mom good luck!

    October 22

I was planning for a September banding, but now it's looking like October. My preferred day would be October 16, that way I would have Fall Break before I have to return to work. I'll check out your blog!
  6. I missed the call back, but my docs insurance person left a message staying that I need one more report, but it should be easy to get. I'm supposed to call her back in the morning. Trying to stay cool, but I'm eager to get this thing done. I'm already eating better and have lost lots of weight, but I don't like having it looming over my head.
  7. As of Thursday, August 8 my Doctors office has all of the information, letters, reports to send to my insurance company. I really hope I am done jumping through hoops! Wish me luck, I have Cigna and have heard they are tough.
  8. I am calling my doctors office after lunch to see if the stuff is submitted yet. As soon as it is, I will call every day. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, right? Lol
  9. I believe it is doable and it is all up to you! Getting into a routine and sticking with your program is what will determine your success! Just do it!

    Fasting...Fast

I personally don't see anything wrong with an occasional fast. It does help liberate you from the pull of food. I have done it, and felt 100% better. I do agree with hazelsbliss...don't put too many expectations on yourself. Perfect will never be attainable. You will have to learn to live long term with your band, you should make it a positive tool.

    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I'm expecting a September surgery date. All I have left is my Psych eval (which is next Wednesday). I can't wait to get insurance approval. Maybe after that, I can relax and not worry anymore.

    What is happening?

I was having 4 protein shakes and one meal of protein and salad/veggie and 2 servings of fat. Calories were falling between 900-1000 per day.

    What is happening?

I went on a mainly liquid diet for over a month due to food just making me sick. I tracked my calories/fat/carbs/protein on my fitness pal. I found that while on liquid, I was getting way more protein and more calories than when I switched over to food. When I started eating the protein and keeping the calories up to 1000, I started losing again. Of course, that is just how my body works....not sure it works for everyone. Good luck!
  14. I thought I would introduce myself. In 2001 I had an open RNY. My outlet was made too large from the get go. I had to work for every single pound I lost, but managed to lose 100lbs, then stopped. I had several hernia repairs due to my original surgery, got pregnant, went through a divorce, got remarried and life went on. Fast forward to last year. I suddenly started having stomach issues. Had, bloating, runs, pain in stomach. Since then I have dropped 40 more pounds just due to being ill. After having some tests, it was found that my outlet was stretched to the size of my intestine. It's a gaping hole. My surgeon thinks it may help my issues to put a band around the lower part of my pouch to slow the dumping of food into my intestine. I'm very excited to 1. Feel better and 2. Have a tool to help new get the rest of this weight off. At this point I'm constantly hungry, but use a lot of self control not to eat...I hope the band will help curb my hunger. I'm still going through the insurance process, but plan to be through all of that and have my stuff sent in for approval the first week of August. I'm having to work not to lose more weight because at this point my bmi is sitting right at 40. Nice to meet you all! Are there any other band over bandsters here

    The Pre-Op Waiting Game

I also have Cigna. I got a letter of necessity and medical clearance today from my pcp. I go for my 3rd visit with the nutritionist 7/31 and the for the psych eval 8/4. My biggest issue is trying to keep my BMi from falling under 40. Cigna is a real stickler for their requirements from what I have been told.
  16. Once upon a time, I lost 120 pounds on Nutri System. In time, I fell off of the wagon and proceeded to gain back 200 pounds! I then had a RNY 7 years later. I lost 100 of those 200 pounds, but then plateaued. The good news is, even with my broken (stretched stoma), I have never gained that weight back. I am bout to have a band placed around my bypass so I can lose the rest of my weight. Only you know what will be best for you, but I would do whatever I could to keep the rebound gain from taking over.

    From 400+ to ONDERELAND!

I have chills! How udderly amazing! You look beautiful. I started at 353 and had a RNY 11 years ago, I never made it down to onderland and am holding at 220-230ish. I'm hoping having a band put over my bypass will give me the boost I need to make down to 160ish. You are an inspiration lady!
