    Hair loss

I am taking a multivitamin. Thank you guys for assuring me that this is normal and that I won't be completely bald, and that this is temporary! Having other people to talk to is awesome and encouraging!
  2. I've been told by numerous people that my hair is looking thin and now I'm really worried about it! I knew it was falling out but, what can I do? I was banded in June 14th and I'm getting enough protein and I'm taking biotin (10,000 mcg). Has anyone been through this too? And what helped?
  3. Well I called my GYN and they won't put me on BC b/c of my hypertension (which im no longer on meds for, because ive lost 50 pounds and it runs 120/80) and diabetes (which I'm only borderline and do not require medication) they said my only option is the mireana, however I do not want the mireana b/c we want to start trying by early next year, it is long term and in some cases actually cause you to become infertile.
  4. I was banded on 6/14/13 and had been told I had PCOS in the past and had very irregular cycles most of the time I didn't even have one. Since I started my liquid diet I have been having regular cycles. I'm not on any form of birth control because I was told In the past that I would have a difficult time getting pregnant. Two weeks ago I was on my period. For the past 3-4 days I've been having a light pink spotting...please tell me you guys had this and that I'm not pregnant! I want a baby and that's a huge reason as to why I was even banded, but I've only been banded for almost 4 weeks. I want to be closer to my goal and healthy! So please tell me that someone else experienced this with hormones getting back into whack. Also, what kind of birth control do you ladies use? What works best with the band?
  5. I didn't keep mine a secret either. I was very open throughout my entire process. I have a great amount of supporters, like my own group of cheerleaders pushing me through. It honestly feels amazing when they encourage me. Also, being open about it has held me accountable, if I don't stay on track I'm not only failing myself but everyone who supports me. Plus, when you start losing weight you will be asked about it...I didn't want to lie to everyone. Also, when you eat around people they need to understand that you aren't being difficult or rude, there are just some things you can't eat and the way you it is different. I wouldn't stress about someone knowing its an amazing step in your life, it's life changing! You're gonna need support from your loved ones!
  6. I made sugar free popsicle's with the sugar free, 0 calorie 0 carb drink mix, it did help! I also purchased a snow come maker the crushed ice kept my mouth busy! Also, occupy yourself. The evenings were really hard for me so I went for walks, swam, went to movies and stayed busy around the house. Hope this helps!
  7. You can do it! I had to do a 4 week pre-op diet, which consisted of 4 slimfast shakes a day, that was it! I'm now 3 weeks post op and I've lost 40 pounds! 25 of which I lost on the slimfast diet!

    Feeling hungry

I had to do a 4 week pre op diet. I am 3 weeks post op and since I hit the two week mark I've been hungry. My surgeon won't put fluid in anyone's band until they are 4weeks post op. from what I gather having no fluid in your band is essentially like having no band at all. Needless to say I can't wait to get a fill!

    Pcos

So before I started the whole lap band process I was diagnosed with PCOS and I rarely had a period. Since I've lost 42 pounds my cycle has returned for the past 2 months! Has anyone with PCOS gotten pregnant after having the band?

    Lung pain

ShantelleElaine, I was banded on June 14th. Currently I'm in The ER and my d-dimer is 4000 so they are saying I more than likely have a PE, we are waiting on CT results to be sure but I'm more than likely spending some time in the hospital too
  12. Anyone had any pain when taking in a deep breath? When I take in a deep breath or yawn I feel a sharp pain in my left lung...anyone have this? If so what is it?
  13. Okay, I'm thinking I might be dehydrated...my urine is totally orange...I'm not feeling the greatest and I'm afraid I'm getting dehydrated any suggestions?
