Oh my gosh - I am right there with you guys...I HATE that anyone knows about my surgery because I really do feel like a failure...I am really having a hard time - I feel like all I can eat is soup - it's probably my own fault, too big of bites, eating too fast...it's so much harder then I ever thought it would be. I thought the weight would fall off - I feel like I'm hardly eating, or when I do it comes back up, so why am I not losing. I'm in such a funk about it all, I need something positive!

I recently got my first fill....I had no restriction when I got my band, now I do. I have 'messed up" few times already. Eating too fast, too big of bites, drinking with food, and tried fried food. Yes, I DO know that all of these things are NO NO's...but my question is....if you do mess up, what can you do for relief? The PAIN of being stuck is unbearable!! I swear I have had moments in the past few days hat I just wished I could/would die!! Along those same lines.....how do you know if you have slippage? I just hope that I haven't messed anything up!! This is SO much harder then I thought it would be!!

I am 3 weeks post op and have been feeling back to normal!! All of a sudden today I have pain in my left side, in the area that my port is....It hurts to twist or bend. I DID move some furniture today and I'm kinda freaking out that I may have messed something up....any thoughts? I go to the dr tomorrow for my first fill, a fill that I am SO looking forward to since I am starving all of the time and haven't lost weight since my pre op diet :/ I hope and pray that he doesn't say that I messed up and can't have the fil....

Over eat = Shoulder pain...what the?
WheelCrazy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ 2 weeks post op and I'm still complaining of shoulder pain - however, I just relized it is horrible sharp pain when I eat too much!!! I'm eating mush and pureed foods, but I just put the correlation together - is that crazy, is it even possible?? I just VERY stupidly over did it and I'm not throwing up, not burbing, but I want to cut my arm off at the shoulder, the pain is literally that bad.. -

I'm pretty miserable - it was definately due to over eating, TMI but luckily I got a little relief by throwing up some...UGH - BIG lesson learned tonight!! Time to measure and count, signal DON'T work for me! You do have me concerned now though...I go back to the Dr on Tuesday - I'm anxious to talk to him about it all. -

unfortunately i have NO RESTRICTION I'm 2 weeks post op and I know I just over ate - I'm absolutely disgusted with myself and angry and disappointed right now!! I came home and I was STARVING, so I ate, then had some more and then even some more!! OMG - this is so damn hard!! I want my first fill NOW before I really mess things up! -
I too have a new found love for cycling!! 2 days before my surgery I did my first century ride!! I did great til the las t 10 miles when I about fell out - I had no reserve from being on the liver shrinking diet! I'm 10 days post op and haven't gotten back on my bike yet, but I'm itching to!! It's just so dang hot!!!

In looking for good high protein, low carb, low sugar meal choices I'm repeatedly directed to Paleo recipes...I have to say that after looking at several I'm thinking this is the way for me to go...is anyone else on board?
-
would it really be that hard? I mean I was kind of under the impression that we were allowed very limited carbs now that we are banded anyways...I know that my mother in law was banded over 3 years ago and hasn't had bread since...she said she can't b/c it gets stuck.... I don't know, maybe I'll be a modifyied Paleo dieter!! LOL I just notice the high protein and that seems to be what is what we should be after.I'm still on mush now, but am definitely looking forward to 'real' food. Also, just curious, I'm at day 10, I was losing pretty good ever since the liver diet, now I stopped and I'm hungry!! Will I stay at about this weight until my first fill?
-
I absolutely felt the same way - I didn't think I'd ever drink a full glass of water again!! But I'm at about day 10 and able to drink with out that over full feeling....hang in there!!

Oh....Hello appetite....Now go AWAY!!
WheelCrazy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I'm at about day 9 of post op and here comes my appetite back!! I'm so sick of liquids, I started to puree foods, but I found myself snacking on them throughout the day - instead of set meals. I made chicken salad and it was so good it seemed like was constantly going by the fridge getting a spoonful.. If I don't eat I have NO ENERGY!! I'm also having a hard time getting fluids in, 1, I have a hard time sipping, esp when it's this hot out. and 2, they just feel "sloshy" in my stomach... OH, and, I STILL have the CO2 gas pains in my left shoulder....will that EVER go away?? I'm so looking forward to feeling 'normal' again... -
best thing I ever did

I agree, the full liquid is betting OLD!! Especially today during cookouts.... but honestly for me the worst is the gas pains in my shoulder!! Any suggestions_? -
each day gets better....but I'll be honest, it was a lot harder than I thought! I never know what I feel - hungry, gas, indigestion? I can't wait to feel 'normal'!! This weekend, Memorial Day - kinda sucks, everyone is cooking out and at the beach and I'm stuck on the couch!!
-
Hi, I started off a little higher then you guys, (199) which is off the chart high for me... I'm 5 days post op and @ 181....I'm so curious to see how low we can really go... My lowest adult weight that I can remember is 155, I set my goal to 137, why? Oh I don't know I like the numbers 3 & 7,lol! But I would LOVE to be smaller... I just can't imagine.. But here's to hoping!
