Hi. This is just a very preliminary feeler- anyone in the Pittsburgh, Pa area interested in a support/exercise group? Nothing solid yet, I'm just trying to see if anyone local is lurking on these boards. I was banded at Magee 2 and a half years ago.

I'm so very lucky and happy to have a wonderful doctor. He very gently brought up WLS, and never pushed it. He waited until I decided that I was ready, and then helped in every way that he could. If anyone in the Pittsburgh area needs a good GP, try Dr. Sam Urick, in the Robinson area.

I'm in Pittsburgh, too. Dr. Courcoulos at Magee put my band in.

Congratulations! I was banded in February if 2012. Before the six month pre-op diet, my pants were size 34W. Yesterday, for a Christmas party, I easily zipped up a brand new pair of size 18 petites!

I was banded on Feb. 29, 2012. Up until September 2013, I lost 123 pounds, and had 77 pounds left to lose. Everything was great, and then I hit a plateau. On top of that, in the last 10 months, I have lost my grandmother, one dog in February, and another dog just this Sunday. I exercise pretty intensely six days a week, but I'm an emotional eater. I've gained about 16 pounds, and I'm starting to panic. I can't go back to where I was. Anyone have any experience with a situation like this?

I just went to Macy's and bought two knit t-shirts, size XL. I started in August 2011 wearing 4X or 5X dreaming of buying things at Macy's! One more- I was buying a wrist band at my Zumba class, when the lady selling it started to warn me that they didn't stretch much and were prone to snapping. Then, she looked at me and said, "Oh, you don't have to worry. You're smaller than me, and your wrists are tiny." I should have hugged her! She made my week! -
I'm rethinking my goal weight, too. I've lost about 125. Initially, I wanted to lose 200. Now I'm not sure that will be a good or realistic weight for me. I definitely want to lose more than 125, but I think my original goal may be too small for my frame.

Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself!

Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I went on a water slide! I always wanted to, but never made the weight limit. When I looked at the sign, I realized that I was about 30lbs under the limit. I climbed those steps, and kept waiting for someone to say that I couldn't do it. Did it, and lived to tell about it!!! I was also able th shop at Old Navy, and didn't even have to buy the biggest size!
