  1. ok...i have severe gas myself and finally stumbled upon a "relief" system that works for me yesterday..by accident. As soon as anything is in my stomach, I get bad gas...starts in the upper GI (chest) then travels down to my left and eventually to the right then out...lol. I was looking for something all over the house yesterday and kept bending down and sometimes would not bend my knees and there it was, all the gas was being moved everytime I would bend down......so I did a test. Did the "downward dog" yoga pose or just bend right over with your hands on the floor and bend your knees, then do it straight..omg, you should feel the gas move and girgle in the there. Its sorta been a godsend for me as now I tested to see if it was the band this am that I was having problems with or if it was gas...and it was not my band, it was gas as I got instant relief when I did the excercises. It not a cure for the gas, but it helps get rid of it alot faster along with the gas x strips... Hope it helps you. :)

  2. Sorry you are feeling this way. Do you have a "buddy" that can help you get back on the wagon, even if its to listen or do the diet with you? Hope you find the strenght to fight this and keep your chin up. Look at it in "one day at a time" kinda way and set yourself goals for daily instead of long run goals. I wish you all the best.

  3. They did not tell me about calories to start off with, just to measure 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of food and no more, not to expand my pouch. Geez, I really wish all the doctors were on the same page so that we weren't so confused all the time....I really hate that. I'm kinda lost where it comes to mushy foods except for scrambled eggs and fully absorbed oatmeal, and creamed soups...can we basically eat anything at this stage but blended up in the blender?? what are you planning on starting on as mushy if you dont' mind sharing cause I just don't know what is considered mushy anymore.

  4. I guess I am lucky as I love Water by itself, it don't bother me. I find it extremely hard to take in 68 oz of water (which I haven't been able to do yet). You can't drink 15 to 30 min before a meal....that doesn't leave much time in between meals where you can drink..except at nighttime (for me anyways). That is the real challenging thing for me. I can drink a 20oz bottle throughout the day and that is it. Really do not know how to address this issue anymore, unless I gulp down a 10 oz at a time...but we are supposed to take "little sips" which impairs the capacity to take in my fluids. So yeah, that is a challenge for me 2.

  5. Same here...the tenderness I think is normal...you're still sensitive from surgery, its only been 10 days. I find alot of my pain comes from gas...and more gas...lol Its faily new to me 2 as I was banded May 3 and had a few problems but I hope for the best. Hang in there, you'll probably be seeing him soon anyways for your first post op visit. Cheers

  6. Had my surgery May 3 also. Having a hard time. Was introducing foods slowly but it all halted when I had a bad reaction on Sunday night where I had to call my surgeon. He had me in the next day. I had a bad reaction to eating some pork I had cooked and now am back on liquids and think I popped some internal stiches. I had a big surgical hematoma where my port incision is but he drained it. Back on liquids until the end o fthe week and am so afraid to introduce foods again after going through hell. Doctor told me I might one of those patients that cannot do meats so I hope he's wrong cause I really do not want to become a vegatarian. I talked to him about the gas and pain associated from the gas and he's not too sure what can be done besides Gas X...as I told him I feel like my social life is over if this flatulence problems does not go away or at least be somewhat controllable..I said I felt like an alien from planet Gas..lol.. Nice to meet y'all...

  7. Going through the same thing from my husband AND my son.

I do think that my husband's worried about the personality change and confidence that comes with weight loss and my son is just plain scared of surgeries. It is a lot for them to take in, so I would suggest that you reassure her that no matter what happens or how more handsome you become, she will always be the one. This seems to comfort my husband when his insecurities take over and I comfort him. He is slowly coming around.

    Hope that helps. Cheers,
