The weather? Yes. My body? YES. Have many of you stay cold after surgery? I don't mean chilly. I stay so cold... Bone chilling cold. Normal or not?
-
Couldn't agree more with all this... I wear layers & the only thing that helps me is a hot bath, as well. And I mean as hot as it will go. Not warm. H. O. T. My port hurts too. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this.

I love Cuddle Duds!!!

Me too! Primarily my feet.... But it's miserable. I'm about 50 overweight too though. Boo. Glad I'm not alone with the staying cold!

Wow! Great job!!

Well, I'll look over your temporary lapse in judgement... LOL! Always a good football rivalry. Nothing more fun than that game! Thanks so much!

Y'all!! Shut. The. Front. Door. Some mornings, when I see myself in the mirror, I almost can't believe it! This has been the best decision of my life!! ????

Hello all! I was banded in August of 2013. Two weeks ago, I realized I was able to eat a bit more than normal but still not too much. In hindsight, I realize my band was likely too tight before and I didn't realize it. I did have several episodes of food coming back up. I feel different now but great. The problem is, nothing changed... No adjustments. I was just able to eat more one day. Any idea what may have happened? Unfamiliar with signs of band slippage but also unsure if that's a possibility because the amount of food I can tolerate is still limited. (approximately one cup.) Has anyone else ever experienced anything of the like? My surgeon is 3.5 hours away & when contacted via phone, they seemed unconcerned... Suggestions, advice and similar stories welcome!!

Good luck to both of you!! Pre-op is hard (mentally) and post-op is relatively smooth (minus the gas pain.) I wish you both well on your journey & look forward to seeing updates! Relax & get excited! Your life is about to change!

It really is the little things that make you so, so happy!! I'm happy for you! Congratulations! That's awesome!

I have decided on Lap Band
Lolo86 replied to thybenwife07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The simple fact is that it's for YOU. When I decided to tell my family, I already had my mind made up. That including telling my husband. I remember when I told him, he said "I don't think you need to do that." I replied with "I don't think you understand. I've already made up my mind. This is what I have to do for me. You can support me or not, but it's going to happen either way so I would appreciate it if you could be in the game with me." He was fine. And 130 pounds later, I want y'all to know that I haven't heard the man complain a single time about how I look these days! Hang tough! You know what is best for you. Don't let anyone steal your thunder. PS: Two years out & I'll guarantee you, this is no "easy way out". It will test you, physically & mentally, but you'll be better for it! I'm proud of you! Message me if you'd like to talk further. -
What a difference one year can make. I feel so much better & am much more healthy. Coincidentally, I pushed myself into ONEDERLAND on my one year since surgery anniversary!!
-
Well a year in & I do eat one meal a day & typically, that's fine... Don't even think about it. But sometimes, I get the same way. I just want to be able to eat more. It doesn't bother me like it did before. This battle is hugely mental, remember that. Good Luck!!

10 months. 91 pounds. Best decision I ever made.
-
Same things happens to me. My doctor said it was completely fine.
-
I did it by following rules from my surgeon. I exercise for at least an hour a day. At least 6 days a week. I drink water... Religiously. And I don't drink when I eat.
-
Thanks y'all!

Hey y'all! I've been banded for a little under a year & at a total loss of 91 pounds. Yay! However, recently, I've noticed that I'm getting stuck a LOT more often than I did when I first got my band. Am I just eating too fast? Too big of bites? I do the normal things... Just feel stuck, start sliming (which is horrible!), and the good Lord willing, it will just come back up with little coaxing. Any suggestions or have any of you had this issue? Thanks!

To be filled, or not to be filled...

I completely agree here. I wasn't quite sure what I was trying to say. But this was it. Your weight loss is fantastic, but the amount of food you're consuming is probably more than you should be. Like I recommended, just talk with your doctor & figure out your game plan. -
The more weight you lose, the more you will notice your port. Mine was uncomfortable for about a month after surgery. At a 91 pound loss, it's uncomfortable, but in a different way. Directly after surgery, it was uncomfortable because....well, I had just had surgery & was healing & it was a new foreign object in my body. These days, it gets uncomfortable if I sleep on it wrong or my pants get pushed up under it just the right way, it'll aggravate me. For the most part, I don't know it's there anymore. It may be tender for a day after a check-up just because my surgeon likes to push & prod. I wouldn't do any other kinds of exercise until your doctor clears you for it. How does your incision site (where the port is) look? Is it healed completely? I don't think they released me until one month post-op. You'll be back to hitting the weights in no time. Best wishes.
