Thanks Laura. I will have to figure out the amount soon as it seems it will be more than expected.

My insurance didn't cover the Nutritional evaluation ($200) and the Psych clearance ($375) and those expenses didn't count toward the out of pocket either. My surgeon has a co-payment of $1,600 and I am only waiting to see how much my hospital copay will be... I will know on Friday. Did you pay the day of your surgery or before? thanks.

My visit was about an hour long and she wanted to make sure I understood this surgery is not a magic fix but a tool. We talked about family history, eating patterns (I usually eat when I'm stressed ) and what can do when I feel stressed that doesn't involve food. It was a very helpful visit for me because I was made aware of behaviors that led me to gain weight and how I can deal with them when they come up after the surgery. Good luck !

How will this affect people that are unable to pay the premium membership ?

I've been trying to drink more and more water but sometimes it gets boring. I have tried Crystal Light, Mio water enhancer and Dansai. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Hi! I'm Karmen I'm also a thirty something mom of 3 (2 girls 13 & 15 and one boy 8). I couldn't lose the weight after my last pregnancy and I was also in a very abusive relationship so I turned to food for comfort. Managed to leave the abusive relationship but not the unhealthy one with food. My weight went from 135-140 to 252. I gained about 40 lbs in one year (after I quit smoking) that's when I said it's enough. I am in good place, in a healthy relationship and I want to start living life the way it's supposed to be. Before considering surgery I tried many programs, pills, exercise programs and I was able to lose some weight and then regained it back and some more. I wish you all good luck in this journey and I'm so glad we have a place to turn for support.
