    Night Time Munchies

I'm right there with you. My snack is a tablespoon of peanut butter. That's a far cry from my old 9pm snack - double meat cheese burger, fries and coke. :-)

    Please Help! :(

Just hang in there, the weight will start going down again. I went through the dreaded 3 week stall and just finished another 2 week stall (10 months post-op). Your body is going to fight back as you lose the weight so fast. It is going into starvation mode and will try to hang onto every calorie it has stored. But if you just keep with your program, your weight will start falling again, I promise. Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!

    Second Episode Up!

Thanks for the new video. I tend to get into a rut, eating the same thing week in and week out. Now I've got something new to try.
  6. I have a very sedentary desk job and was ready to go back on day 10. I would have been off about a week longer if I had to any kind of manual work. Squatting, lifting and bending were not painful, but not recommended by my doctor.

    hospital stay

2 days for me. 1st day was surgery. 2nd day was for leak test. I really only count day 2 as a 1/2 day. I was supposed to be released at 11am, but my doctor got caught up in Houston traffic. :-(
  9. Found an old pre-op video I made just before surgery. Here I am saying goodbye to 130lbs.

    Happiness Is.......

What made me happy today? I bent over to pick up my shoes and waited for my knees to hurt... and they didn't! :-)

    Help...having regrets

I can only speak for myself, but I don't get anything out of self-help books. I feel much better and get better feedback by talking to a person. I would talk to the psy. They are compassionate people and want to genuinely help. There's nothing you could tell them that they haven't already heard and know all those little details that can make the difference between success and failure.

    Caffeine addict

I have never really liked coffee. I always tell people I like a little coffee with my sugar... cause I put so much splenda in it. But I've been drinking coffee since month 2 or 3 post-op. Never had any problems with it or caffeine.

    Death to the carb monster

Hang in there. I've had to fight the carb monster a few times myself. I find that the more sugar carbs I eat, the more I crave them. To break the cravings, I go back to my old Atkins diet and eat boiled eggs, lean pork and chicken breast. Along with good carbs like yellow squash, Beans and brussel sprouts. Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!
  15. 10 months out, I have no problems with any food. Up to about month 6, I was still getting stomach grumbles from the "good foods" like grapes, pineapple, whole wheat bread, squash, eggplant... basically anything fibrous was difficult to downright uncomfortable to digest.

    WALKING DEAD!

FINE! I'll just go over to the RANTS forum and rant my little butt off about how mean W.D. fans are! :-P

    Condiments

My doc put no limitiations on what I can eat - as long as I keep within his guidelines. 800 cals/day - 50% Protein, 25% low-glycemic carbs, 25% regular carbs. If I stick to those rules, it's hard to eat a lot of sugar. My favorite 2 condiments are French's mustard and hot sauce. Neither has many carbs, but add lots of flavor.

    WALKING DEAD!

I tried watching the 1st few episodes. I just couldn't get into it, but I'm a late bloomer. I'll probably like the show 5 years from now and watch the DVDs over and over like I do the Sopranos. :-)

    When can you drink

I was allowed soda after 4 months, but I've been drinking Crystal Light lemonade for more than 10 years - so I don't have any desire to drink fizzy stuff anymore.
  20. I haven't found any food that I can't tolerate at 10 months post-op. There are some who said they couldn't eat bread or have become lactose intolerant. I guess I'm lucky that I can eat anything without problems.

    So many questions! :)

    1. After 6 months, my doctor lifted all restrictions on my activities. 2. No restrictions on food once I was allowed back on full foods - after 6 weeks post-op. 3. Don't know. 4. After 6 months, my doc said I was completely healed up. No risk of staples coming out once the stomach is completely healed. I answer a lot these type questions on my youtube channel. You might check it out. The link is below in my signature.

    Its LOSE NOT LOOSE!

Can't we all just go back to lurking on the threads where the ladies talk about how horny they are post-op? :-P

    A few questions

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggggght. Funny how cigarette smokers always mix up their terms in forum replies. :-P
