guess what I lost 1 week postop?
joatsaint replied to Mastiff_mama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on such a good week. -
I feel for ya. It's strange, they want you to go on a diet so that you can go on a diet later on. It's sorta the same logic as going in for a loan. They want collateral to back the loan, but if you had the collateral, you wouldn't need the loan. P.S. Too bad you can't skip the diet part and go straight to the horny part! http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/62552-i-want-sex-now-now-now/

Congrats on getting your head shrunk. Now you have proof that you're just as crazy as the rest of us. "I'm not crazy. My mother had me tested." - Sheldon Cooper -
Now that i can have food i dont want it
joatsaint replied to Sarah78_RN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that as well. I was craving a particular kind of hamburger when I was on the pre-surgery diet. After surgery, I don't have any cravings. Except one spontaneous craving was flung on me when I passed a banana. I had to have that banana!!!! -
10 days out....Vets please tell me it gets better?
joatsaint replied to Diamondeyed's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, once the swelling goes down, you will be able to take normal swallows of liquids. But don't rush it, take small sips until you know how much your new stomach can hold. I found out the hard way - you ain't gonna like it. Congrats on making it this far. -
Congrats on making it through. I wasn't in any shape to post updates for the 1st 5 days post-op. Glad to hear your doing well. Walk as much as you can, eat ice chips until you're allowed Water, and take small sips/bites until you learn how much you can hold.

I didn't eat any until about 4 weeks out. Not for any one reason except it wasn't in the house. I was focused on getting my Protein and vegs. My mom served some garlic bread with spaghetti and I ate a piece over 30 minutes. I didn't have any problems. A few weeks later I had a whole wheat bread sandwich, it did cause some stomach rumblings but nothing else. I don't know if it was the bread or the piece of lettuce that caused the issue.

Just got my sleeve in Dec. I'm 47 and started at 372 lbs. I didn't have any complications, but it wasn't a pain free recovery or as quick, like some have had. I am very happy with my sleeve and would do it all over again in a sec. Click on the link in my signature to read my blog posts on my experiences.

You are lookin HOT! Keep pimpin that sleeve.

This time next Monday night I'll be resting in hospital from my surgery
joatsaint replied to Msa662's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yea, no blood clots. And it helped move the gas out of my system. I didn't want to move, but once I was up and walking, I felt better. -

No you won't! They'll have your butt up and down the halls walking every 2 hours! Then they come in and take your vitals every so often. Then when you've just drifted off to sleep, the church ladies come in and want to pray for you. And then there's the fire drills, fire alarm went off twice while I was there. It might not happen to you, but that was my experience, maybe I just got the bonus plan. -

I gotta vote Blue. You look "happier" in that color. -
Am I really going to do this! It this really going to happen fo rme!
joatsaint replied to JMS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting real close and I can't help but think am I going to be the one this will not work for??? The surgery works and it will work for you if you use it properly. It will give you control over your eating. Will something go wrong??? It could, but the odds are very very low. After all it is major surgery. But what is your life going to be like if you continue on the current path? Is this real??? Yep Will my life change for real?? I can guarantee your life will change, starting the moment you're wheeled out after surgery! -
Depending on how soft it is, my NUT said week 3 - soft foods stage.

Anxious and Excited
joatsaint replied to breemarshall's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Yea, the waiting part is the most difficult once you've committed to the surgery. Just do like I did and stay in denial that it's going to happen until they roll you into the operating room! -
Just surf The powder Room and see all the horny ladies posting! Uh oh, I think it's catching. I think I've got it now!!!!!!! http://www.verticals...7322__hl__horny http://www.verticals...page__hl__horny

Will i ever be able to take a big bite again?
joatsaint replied to Sumsuz68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Getting back to normal size bits just takes time. The main thing is to know how many bites before you get full. I'm at week 8 and still don't get any warning signs that I'm full. It goes from normal to "topped off" with just one more bite. So it's better to eat small bites to learn where your full mark is. -
Feeling More Hopeful!

Congrats on making it this far. Your friend may just be concerned about your surgery, after all it's is major surgery - even though they do it everyday. -
Don't forget about the staples in your stomach. :-)

No whole pills... chewables only?
joatsaint replied to Bree's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I was swallowing my vitamins and calcium pills whole (1 at a time), by week 2. Haven't had any problems. My doctor told me that I could take chewables or whole pills after I got past week 1. -

My stomach does not like G2, even at 8 weeks. I'm sticking with Crystal Light.

It is if you sprinkle some Unjury on it!

I know what you mean! Get the kind that makes it's own gravy. I prefer the kind that makes it's own gravy!

Anyone Else Have Surgery Right Before Their Birthday?

Mine was a "twofer". Surgery was 2 weeks after my B-day and 2 days after X-Mas.
