    Port Pain

I have been doing great otherwise. No nausea at all. I have been taking it pretty easy. It definitely feels like a hard edge sticking up.

    Port Pain

I'm Day 9 Post Op. I'm wondering if other people can feel their ports under their skin and what it feels like. Mine protrudes and I'm afraid I've done something to make it go sideways. It feels like one edge of it is sticking out and it hurts really bad to touch it. I'm wondering if it's normal.

    Port pain

I was banded June 25. My port is a hard knot under my skin and protruding. It feels very strange to touch. It's not round and flat like I thought it would be. It almost feels sideways. I hope I'm wrong! Can the rest of you feel your port? It's really, really sore, but I can sleep on that side.

    Newly banded bandsters!

I slept in my high bed the night of my surgery. It was actually easy for me bc I didn't have to bend down. I drove on Day 3. My port area still stings when I walk. It is Day 4 for me now. I have been staying home alone with my 2 kids for the past 2 days and haven't needed any help. Good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine.
  5. I am Day 4 post op and my doctor said I could transition from clear liquids to anything with a consistency of pancake batter whenever I feel ready? How can u tell?
  6. My gas pains are virtually gone. I just have really bad stinging pains around my incisions. I can feel where my port is and it's really hard and very sore. The nurse called to check on my today and said this was normal. I have been running my kids to various places but haven't been getting out of the car. A trip to Walmart last night just about did me in. I was very weak afterward! I have worked all day seated in front of a computer and made it just fine. I just wanted to post my positive recovery so others can see that it's not sheer torture after surgery. On another note, egg drop soup from a Chinese restaurant goes down easy and tastes wonderful compared to the other liquids. I have been eating the same bowl for 2 days now and will still be eating it tomorrow.

    Gas pains

My surgery was yesterday morning. I had horrible gas pain but it went away last night after lots of walking and moving my arms around. Now, it's back and almost as bad. I think the v8 juice I drank might have caused it, bc the pains came immediately after. I had a BM this afternoon and it gave me some relief.

    I did it!

I did sneeze earlier and it scared me to death. I survived though. I'm actually feeling better than expected. I have napped all day waking up every hour to sip water and walk. Thanks for the support.

    I did it!

Well, I finally did it. I got banded today in Little Rock by Dr. Wellborn. I feel like someone ran over my stomach with a truck. On a positive note, I've been trying to walk a lot and the gas pains are going away quickly. I just some Milk of Magnesia so hopefully that will help soon. I've been sipping on Water all afternoon. How soon did you all move to juice or broth? Thanks!

    Dr. Tomorrow

I'm on the Fast Track program since my BMI is 37. This is my first visit with the surgeon. Will he do blood work? What else must happen before surgery?
  15. I see my surgeon tomorrow for a consult. My surgery is scheduled for the 25th. What should I expect tomorrow?
