I am having the same issue, except that I haven't had a fill in three months. I am 1 1/2 years out and all of a sudden I can just feel my band and my port. Its not a constant sensation, just every few minutes or so and its uncomfortable. I'm wondering if its erosion or slippage??

Well, it just happened to me. I went in for my six week fill this morning. I weighed in at 16 lbs down. Oops that's four pounds too much, so my Doctor declined to give me a fill. He said "check back in" in 2-4 weeks with my progress, but that if I was still losing that much (ie more than 2 lbs per week) he would not give me a fill. I protested that I have no restriction. I have just been following a low-carb diet with lots of walking... but heaven knows I've done that a dozen times before. I can always lose the first 30 pounds, its after that that I get sidetracked. A part of me wants to sabotage my diet to get a fill (milkshakes!!) but I know thats clearly not in my own self interest. So I'll just keep trudging along with my 25K stomach ornament that does me no good. I'll take small consolation in the fact that my skin will hopefully shrink at a normal rate. Glad to hear I'm not all alone in my denial. :straight :straight :straight

Port/scar area knot
jalen123 replied to LstNTranslation's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't worry about it. I had the same large lump that formed under my largest incision. I immediately went to get checked out. My doc said that was the only place where they cut through muscle tissue and that it was common to have a lot of scar tissue form there. It could take weeks to go down! I am about 5 weeks out and mine is just now shrinking. But it does feel weird, so I understand why you're freaked out. Hope that helps!:clap2: -
So now that its in there, how long will I "feel" it??

Hi everyone! I was banded on 4/2/07. I have felt pretty great since then. I had an "unusual" surgery, since my stomach had a funny shape. Thus, I got my first fill during surgery (1 cc in a 4cc band). But now I can eat a decent amount and feel pretty good. Only had a few things stick in my throat, but nothing has come back up. What I do have a problem with, is that I "feel" the band. Of course, I can feel it when I eat, but I also notice it first thing in the morning. It almost feels tight and causes a little bit of tightness in my breath. But the real problem comes when I hiccup (which unfortunately is fairly often). When I hiccup, I feel the band <move, squeeze, adjust?> and it takes a minute for the pain to subside. I feel an almost metallic feeling from my stock up into the back of my skull. Has anyone else had issues of this sort? Is it normal? Could I be eating too much and causing this? Also, will I always feel my food squeeze through? Will I always feel my band, or is that just because its new? Thanks to all who have any advice for me!! Jalen -

:nervous Seriously, has no one else felt this thing with the hiccups? Can others "feel" their bands or do they just feel full? I just want to know if I am normal!!!
