Getting ready for surgery. What can I expect for my 1st couple of days after?
patsy1947 replied to AnEMal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
everyone is different, i was lucky , not much pain at all, i did have to sleep on recliner for a few days but thats because i sleep on my side and thats the side my stitches were on . best advice is to drink Water and walk as much as you possibly can. you may have some gas pain so walking will help the gas pass. a good trick for getting your fluids in is to set a timer for every 15 mins and drink a shot glass of water. and sip sip sip slowly. we are all here to help and give tips. this site is great as you will see. just stick with what dr. tells you and you will be fine. good luck and remember this is going to be your new birth day , a new beginning. -

i found if you put the pemier protein in a blender with some ice and blend it is easier to take , and the taste is a little better. -
THIS is how the first 4 weeks go...
patsy1947 replied to HumanMerelyBeing's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 4 months out and just wanted to let you know it will get better each day for you. stalls are just part of it and even though they are depressing just stick to the program and your weight lose will start again. as to constipation , drink lots and lots of water if you are having trouble getting it all down, a little trick is take a shot glass , set a timer for 15 mins and every 15 min drink a shot glass of water.. it works pretty well.just remember to sip . i hope i have helped, good luck with your new life. -
i went through a 2 week stall , it was depressing then i desided to try something, i went back to having 3 Protein shakes a day and lots of Water and after a few days started to lose again. maybe it will work for you.

Stall is depressing me :-(
patsy1947 replied to TheWigster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i know how you feel i am in a stall now. I am 7 weeks out and its my first stall and has lasted a week, its llike my body doesn't want to let go of the weight . its very depressing,, but just hang on , everyone says just stick to it and it will start moving again, the lbs will start to melt off again but when? so remember you are not alone , its something we all go through. -
like you one week out i had heartburn bad,, Call doctor there is meds he can perscribe for you that will stop that.
