    Anyone get sleeved in May?

Sounds familiar. My husband is very much against that even though my BMI is at 48. But after a failed band, and a year of Paleo which doesn't work for me. And after he has been bossing me around about how to lose weight, I went forward with the process, and I'm excited to say my date is coming up next Tuesday. May 17. Total Failure

I had my band June 4 th - lost 36 - band was to tight at 11cc - was vomiting too often and in Nov they emptied my band. I gained back 12 lbs, and at the beginning of Dec had a new fill - 9 cc this time. I'm still not able to control my portions or food, always hungry - so stressed and once again a failure. I'm suppose to go for a fill this week, but I believe the snow storm has other plans for me. I'm really just ranting here. I know come Monday I can go for my fill. I do know what I need to do, but I have no will power. Sad but true. #fail

Thank You for the link Jim1967. Jammiebp, my sister just had the sleeve a few months ago too. I feel quite jealous but happy at the same time.

    Total Failure

Thank you for the support. The doctor said each person is different with the way the fat sits. If you have a lot of belly fat, it presses more on the band as well as the organs, therefore requiring a smaller fill. However in my case, I do not have a lot of fat around my organs & belly - just a huge ass & thunder thighs . that is the reason why I need more drastic fills. I was really in the dumps last night, reflecting back on the past crappy year and just having a pity party. Thanks for hearing me out. Support & venting is definitely key to success. Today started out on the right foot, Always looking for tips on how to snack, and get down Protein drinks Again, thank you...
  9. I had my second fill on Aug 5. I stayed on clear liquids for 2 days, moved to protein shakes which I tolerated. Last night, I was completely stupid, I wasn't hungry - but there was pizza- sitting there and I did, yes I did- I had 3 bites, which I chewed (thought) thoroughly. The pain so intense I t came up like a rocket. Ok, so dumb move . Today I took it easy had a protein shake, then when we were out to dinner, I had a cup of soup - could only tolerate a 1/2 of the cup and could feel that pain start. So I stopped. When I came home I had a yogurt which was ok. Feeling hungry a few minutes ago, made oatmeal (very thin) and had one spoon and that awful pain is back. I stopped. I haven't puked, feel so bad like I should. But can't. What do you do? Will it eventually go down? Is this too tight? How do you know?

I finally have restriction, but is it too much?

Feeling a bit better, sticking to liquids.
  11. 5 cc the first fill, still no restriction, another 5 cc second fill. Now I have restriction
  12. I had my first bill today after my surgery on June 4. They put in 5 cc and I'm feeling just but bit nauseous. I have a burning sensation as well. I am sticking to clear liquids as instructed. Maybe the fact that I came down with a cold and sore throat and ear ache has something to do with it. Could the postnasal drip be causing me to feel nauseous? And honestly, I feel quite hungry. Besides Jello, and clear broth with unflavored protein, what else would anyone suggest??

How does it physically feel ?

The first day not too bad, at all. It's the gas pressure that is bothersome. Of course you're a little sore from the VERY small incisions, but I was so pleasantly surprised. I was so so anxious before, and I feel like that was wasted energy now. Also I was anxious about the clear liquid diet after, and that was tolerable as well, because you really don't feel like eating. You are going to do great. It's easy to say now, relax but I completely understand where you are at. My advice: pack yourself lip balm to keep your lips moisturized, a pillow for car ride home, also have on hand at home; Gasx (that is advice many on this board gave me and it helped. I was banded June 4.

    Bowel movements- sorry:(

Hang in there, just had my band on the June 4th. Same situation. Then, it was mostly diarrhea from all the liquids. Hang in there.
  17. I was banded Tuesday. Everything went smooth. Feeling pretty good. Getting around. Not hungry or tempted, which is surprising (very happy about that) But the gas, oye vey.. its unbelievable. I feel like an elephant is on my chest - I want to burp but cant. The tornado flying around my abdomen is quite comical - I've taken gasX, very little relief. I've been walking, going up & down stairs. Can someone just come stick a tube in me and suck out all the gas? UGH
  18. Feeling much better today. (Although I didn't flap my arms like a chicken) I did get out and about. Of all places, I went food shopping. The smells and sights actually didn't bother me too much. I'm starting to feel hungry. I've been just having jello, popsicles, water & decaf tea. I had a yogurt, but it's not sugar free. Can not find any sugar free yogurts. The doctor allowed me to start full liquids yesterday. I would love something to chew, but honestly I can wait. I noticed I've dropped 6 lbs. I'm keeping it hush hush in the house. That makes me excited! Hope everyone is doing well... Hugs

    Getting scared & excited

I had my surgery on Tuesday. I'm feeling really good. Today Thursday just a little gas pain and where the incision is there's a little pain. I haven't been hungry. I have strong willpower. I will succeed at this. And you will too. I was so afraid of failing. I know it's only a few days into this but I have positive feelings. I was so anxious that the pain afterwards and diet afterwards would be horrible. It's not too bad at all. Stay focused and positive

Did anyone NOT have to do the preop diet?

My doctor required only 1 day prior to surgery - clear liquid diet. It wasn't bad at all. I think I was just so excited. I had my surgery today at 10:30. I will be on a clear liquid diet for the next week. I'm feeling remarkably good. Completely surprised and thankful ! Good Luck to you!
  23. I'm here at Morristown Medical Center, and ready to take my leap of faith to my new life. I'm feeling good, even being on clear liquids, I'm feeling good. I'm proud of myself for making this decision, and I'm finally doing something for me! To all you sabotage 'ers out there :you can't get me no more! Everyone going in today- good luck .. And smile at your surgeon

  25. My surgery has been moved up to this coming Tuesday. What are the best things to have stocked in your refrigerator/pantry for the next following week after surgery for clear liquid diets? I'M SO EXCITED! By the way, did everyone banded have a clear liquid diet post-op?
