Yes Katy has changed a lot in just the 12 years I've been here LOL, I remember when we first moved here it seemed so far out now it's like nothing to drive Katy. I'm doing okay on my pre-op diet I am not on pure liquids I have to have two Protein shakes a day and one sensible meal. Most days I am able to do that this week is my last week and unfortunately I had to go out of town for work so it's been really hard, but when I do eat I always make sure it's protein only no carbs. I get back in town on Thursday and then my surgery is Friday I'm really scared that I may not have lost the weight I need to and that they may postpone my surgery. I don't know how strict they are about it as my doctor never said anything officially in my pre-op visit but it said it on the paperwork. Freaking out

So does anyone out there suffer from the inevitable ending of the day glass of wine.?! I'm sure alcohol has attributed to some of my weight gain and I'm scared of it continuing to be a problem going forward after surgery because it's a liquid. I know I'll have to scale back but I have a very stressful job and family life and long for that evening relaxing glass of wine. How do I cope? Thoughts??

Well that's kinda scary. I don't want my appetite to come back with a vengeance. Isn't that supposed to be one of the advantages? Having my surgery on the 24th.

I'm in Houston as well, I live in Katy just west of the city. Having my surgery next Friday at West Houston hospital.

I'm sitting in the room waiting for the doctor to come in, I'm nervous I just want everything to go well and not interrupt my surgery date of May 24th. Good news was I weighed in today and I'm down 5 pounds just from starting my pre-op diet Friday. Getting anxious and excited. CAN'T WAIT. I'll let you know how my pre-op appointment goes.

13lbs is great!! Keep it up.

My appt went very well with Dr Reilly, I like him well enough. He answered all my questions, did an exam, and now I'm at registration at West Houston. Here we go!!

Mandi, thank you for your reply it made me cry to read your post because I can relate so well and you're so right. I am very happy that I'm getting this done and I know I shouldn't be embarrassed, and I hope that overtime I can share with more people. I have told my kids and my mom and about four close friends and they all supported me and I was surprised by their response. Especially my mom only because she tends to worry when anything to do with surgery is brought up. But she was very supportive and I know will always be there for me regardless. My list is endless of the things that I can't wait to do once I get my first 40+ pounds off. I'm tired of living in the shell and missing out on life because I'm either too embarrassed to go, afraid that I'll weigh too much or just simply I have nothing to wear. I'm glad I found this forum and look forward to the continued support and reading positive feedback from everyone.

All good advice thank you guys for responding and for your support. I look forward to my surgery and to getting to know my band and what works for me. I understand that life goes on and we're all human and the key is just adjusting and adapting. I can't wait for my new lifestyle to begin.

Hello ladies, I'm also new and just joined today. I am on my 3rd day of my pre op diet and feeling ok so far. My surgery is scheduled for may 24th. I'm anxious and nervous but ready. My insurance made wait a year so I can't believe it's finally here. I haven't told many people because I'm afraid of someone being negative and I don't need that right now. Also because I'm embarrassed that I've gotten to the point where I even need to have surgery. Not sure what happened one life and when or how I lost control. -Chasity

I'm scheduled to have the surgery on the 24th and I'm new to this site. Is it rude to ask about your journey and what caused you to gain back some of your weight? Just looking to learn from others.

Hello all, I love in Katy and also going to true results dr riley. I just got approved a few weeks ago, got the call from his office and surgery is scheduled for May 24th. I'm on day 3 of my pre op diet and doing well. I'm really nervous and anxious. I'll ready to be my real self and lose this weight. I live in Katy, just West of Houston.

My surgery is also on the 24th and I started my two week last Friday so on day 3 now. It has been very hard but i'm determined because they said if I don't loose weight they will cancel/postpone my surgery and I do not want that to happen. I'm so excited and nervous, I haven't told many people either because I'm scared to be judged partly but I think mostly because I'm embarrassed that I've let myself get to the point that I even would need LB. But I'm doing this for me, my health and to live long and healthy for my kids. So happy to see posititve people on here that are in the same boat as me, I look forward to getting to know you all better and getting and giveing support. -Chasity
