I wanted to be thinner so I could practice football with my kiddos. I was always out of breath and my knees were always hurting. I went through 6 months of supervised weight visits and other tests and finally got a date.
On December 17th, I made my way into the hospital and got checked in and all pre-op stuff done. I remember waking up in my room feeling okay. As the day went on I started feeling a sense of time loss. I asked the nurse what pain meds they had me on. Morphine and something else. I asked to be taken off of one because of the time loss issue. Fast forward to home. I got comfy and recuperated just fine. three weeks later I was released to start working out. So I did. 20 minutes walking on a tread mill and 10-20 minutes in the pool. (walking and light water workout.)
Fast forward Jan 5th, I went to bed at 9:00 pm, at 11:30 I was calling the ambulance. I was rushed to the nearest hospital and was given a CT scan. Still not knowing what was going on I was transported to the original hospital that did my surgery. I was taken into emergency surgery. After waking up in the ICU, they told me that I had a massive leak and could have died if I didn't call the ambulance when I did. They had placed a stent in and two drains. After a week in the hospital, one drain was removed and the other stayed till I saw the surgeon. The next week The last drain came out and now I just have the stent. I hope that in a week or two I will have that out.
So far though, I am 33 pounds down and a lot more to go.
