not sure what to do. help me please

  4. Hello everyone. I am 1 week post op from being banded. Everything has been going great so far..and im now drinking plenty of fluids and up and about everyday. The only issue im having is this super intense shoulder pain that I am assuming is from the gas. I had gas pain the first few days, in my back shoulders and basically my whole upper body. Every area is finally back to normal except my left shoulder. I literally feel like ive been beat with a back or all muscles are pulled. When I take a deap breathe in I can feel the pain in my shoulder. Ive been using a heating pad and lightly massaging it but nothing seems to help. I figured with all the walking ive been doing, the gas would have left me. I called my doctor and he said continue to use the heating pad and tylenol. Hmmm so now im stumped and now reaching out to all of you to see if theres anyone that has experienced what im dealing with. Any advice or ideas would be great. Thank u.

We were banded in the same week and all your posts have been sooo helpful to me. A true inspiration. I hope that you find a sense of calmness in this storm. From what you've said above, you are a true and passionate person and are always reaching out to help others. Hopefully you will take the time to nurture yourself. Its okay to be selfish at least for a couple of weeks. I am sipping and walking with you girlfriend! !!
  6. Hello everyone, I had my surgery last Wednesday. I am still on liquids but I am doing some early research on different recipes for the mushy foods phase. Any recipes would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a blessed day everyone!

    Question

I use muscle milk light and premier protein shakes. They are low in sugar (only 1 gram) and have a whopping 30 grams of protein in each! And they taste great!

Wow. Interesting. Ive never heard of a doctor that doesnt require a liver shrinking diet. Well thats good that you are enjoying everything while you can. As for me im looking forward to the mushy stage.

Thats basically what happened with me. I was waiting on my insurance and the day I got approved, I had my surgery I week from that day. Have you started your liver shrinking diet yet? I lost 11 pounds just from that. I was pretty excited about that

SAN DIEGO bandsters! where u at???

That is sooo awesome. Im so happy for you and the fact that you havent had any complications is even more of a bonus. Ive learned that this journey will take a great deal of patience but I am prepared for it because the end result is what is so rewarding. As for me, the past few days have been rough but im staying positive. Ive had a hard time dealing with the gas pain even tho in walking about 3 miles a day. Im on clear liquids but Im going to try a little soup tonight and see how I feel. Everyday gets alil easier
