  1. I'm going to miss salads, raw veggies and chugging water. And LOL @ tell us about that date. 🤣 Now he's all... 🤐
  2. That's interesting about bread. I couldn't eat it at all with my lap band. I would usually try at a restaurant, and have to excuse myself. 🤮 So I just gave up.
  3. @MiniGastricBypassDude Since OP's thread has been thoroughly and abundantly hijacked, tell us about your date. 😂
  4. Yeah it's nothing to do with RNY. It's my autoimmune disease.
  5. Yeah I don't think my team buys my entirely clean life. I said, "Hey I'm living on the edge now, I use CBD oil!" 😂
  6. I have a few reasons for not drinking. Keto alone put me into near liver failure (due to taking chemo type meds), so yeah booze is a no go for me.

VSG to RNY - Not excited

Yeah same here, it was still newish. And I wasn't crazy about having part of my stomach sent to the incinerator. And I was against RNY for years because I didn't think I would be a candidate for it due to autoimmune disease, but now my Rheumy says oh no go for it. So I'm diving in head first soon.

    Stay tuned to find out!
  10. I don't drink anymore. You don't wanna see me on booze. 😂
  11. That's interesting about the raw veggies stopping a snack attack, thanks for the tip! And yeah my friend has a VSG and has/had an eating disorder that she didn't treat, and went to Mexico for her VSG and now has transfer addiction and drinks daily now. It's so sad.
  12. Wait. One year for booze.
  13. My program is six months for all of the above. 😫

Same concept with the lap band. It lost favor due to GERD... maybe sort of the same thing, but not to the extent of making VSG extinct which is what happened with the lap band.

I have a theory that since VSG is having so many issues with revision due to GERD, that Mexico is now picking up MGB as a new surgery option. But what the hell do I know? 🤣 Hopefully the future successes with MGB in Mexico will catch on here in the US.

😂 Well we are an obese nation. 🤪

    liquid diet :( lol

Wow so liberal! And we lost the same amount of weight and you did it without starving. No fair!. 😂

    liquid diet :( lol

With my lap band surgery, I had the 2 week pre op diet, which consisted of two shakes per day and one meal of 3 - 4 oz lean protein and 2 cups of non-starchy veggies and I had to lose 7 pounds. I was afraid of not losing that amount of weight in two weeks, so I started 3 weeks before surgery. Yeah... HUGE regret doing that. Don't do that. 😂

Humor on this site, is often missed. Sadly, lol. And lolol I hope you don't get Chris Rock'ed either! I think everything in life is easier dealt with if you can find humor in it. I guess not everyone feels that way. Not on this site at least.

VSG to RNY - Not excited

I see. DS is very malabsorptive, more so than RNY, so it has a much higher risk of malnutrition and the malaborption of fats hinders absorption of fat soluble vitamins. So I guess in a surgeons mind, the benefits have to outweigh the risks, which is why my surgeon only does it on patients with poorly controlled diabetics. So patient compliance with DS surgery isn't negotiable. I'm having revision due to GERD soon as well. There's many RNY'ers on here that have done exceptionally well with their surgeries. I'm sure they will post about their successes soon. You will do well with RNY if you follow your surgeons program. Best wishes!
