I have noticed that since my last fill I also burp a lot. About an hour after my meals, it is like I can feel air bubbles come all the way up my esophagus. It feels really, really, weird!!!! Sandy in La.

My name is Sandy. I was banded on 9/30/03 by Dr. George Merriman in Shreveport, LA. My starting weight was between 215 and 220 ( I say this because there was a 5 lb difference on my scales and my doctor's scales.) As of this date I have lost 76 lbs. I now weigh 139. My goal is to weigh 115 - 120. I am 5' 2" tall.

Allow me to introduce myself!

Well, Janie, my diet is simple. I do NOT deprive myself of anything that I want to eat. I just try to keep my calories under 1,200 a day, most of the time it is under 1,000 calories. Don't get me wrong, I do get my Protein in, and I do drink my Water. But if I want some chocolate, I have my chocolate (as long as I can spare the calories and most of the time I make sure that I have a cushion of calories). Exercise is almost non existent. I think my metabolism is pretty high, I was not a roller coaster dieter in my "previous life". I had only been on a couple of diets where I lost massive amounts of weight before I got banded. Most of the time I would diet for a couple of days and then just give up, because I was depriving myself. I have 1 cc in my band and sometimes I can't eat anything and other times I feel like I could eat a killer whale . . . My usual day of food consists of . . . Breakfast, a bowl of vanilla almond Special K Cereal, lunch a lean cuisine, dinner - a very small portion of whatever I fix my husband. I eat out of a dessert saucer (smaller than a salad plate and a dinner plate). Between lunch and dinner I will eat my Snacks that I allow myself for that day be it chocolate or lately I've been on a kick of eating Reese's Pieces with Peanuts. I am not saying this will work for everyone, but it has worked for ME. Sandy in La. Banded 9/30/03 -79 lbs. 215/136/:guess -

Yes, it feels totally foreign. I am still not at my "skinniest" weight. I have about 10 more lbs to go before I reach that weight. But I don't remember all these bones when I was that skinny! :ermm I think my collar bones fascinate me the most . . . don't EVER remember seeing those Sandy in La. -

Thanks everyone for the wonderful responses. I need them. Even though everyone tells me I am doing wonderful and look wonderful, I can't get it through my thick skull sometimes. Thanks again! I love it here already!!! Sandy in La. -
That is in Louisiana. Wish it was LA, but . . . alas, stuck here in "hell". HA! Actually it is not that bad here, but sometimes I just get the itch to travel - move - or whatever . . . I have lived here all my life, except for the two and a half years I spent in Mississippi - talk about hell - I hated living there - no offense to anyone that lives there, it wasn't the people, it was the place . . . restriction, pain, burps, acid reflux.....
murelsgirl replied to tellie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, the same thing happens to me. I'm just glad that I can burp discreetly. I usually cover my mouth and chin with a napkin to be a little more discreet. This has been happening since my last fill in April . . . I guess that means we've got good restriction ??????????? :guess Sandy in La. -
Hello everyone! My name is Sandy. I live in the "wonderful" state of La. I am 35 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 15 1/2 years. We have no children, just fur babies - 1 dog and 1 cat. Ginger the dog, and Bartholamew (Bart) the cat. The cat is my baby and the dog is my husband's baby! I was banded on September 30, 2003 in Shreveport, LA, by Dr. George Merriman. I was his first band patient!!!! My starting weight was 215-220. I have had one fill of 1 cc (six months after my surgery) and have lost 76 lbs. I now weigh 139. My goal weight is 115 -120. My highest weight ever was 230. I started out in size 22 pants and size 24/26 shirts. I am now in size 8 pants and M/L/XL shirts, depending on how they are made. I do forsee plastic surgery in my future for my arms, legs, stomach and these wonderful tube sock boobs (sorry guys - but you girls now what I am talking about). That's enough about me! Sandy in La.
