Sort of depressed/sad/scared
DEBBIEX164 replied to vegas0610's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be fine! I was scared to death of the surgery but I had a great support system. I got banded mid feb 2013 and have lost 60 lbs so far. Have not hit my green zone yet, but I'm sure I will get there. Have gone from a size 26/28 to a 18. Hope you have a good support system, you can do it! -
My stomach and thighs and waist. Boobs went from 44dd to 42dd so far. Was wearing size 26/28 now wearing 18/20. Looking forward to smaller sizes!

If you continue to cheat the band will not work. My nutrition does not allow any type of juice. I liked the protein drinks from Bariatric Fusion.com. When I had my surgery, throat was sore for a day or so but had no gas and no pain, never even opened the bottle of painkiller! Up and out after staying in the day after surgery. Had surgery in Feb.

As everyone said it is a mind thing too. I said to myself "this surgery is it" for me! I was banded 2/12/13 and I have just had my 2nd fill on 6/27. I have lost 56 lbs so far (16 were from the 2 week pre surgery diet). I really don't feel any restriction but when I eat I stop at the amount that I know I am suppose to have. If I feel hungry I will eat sugarfree jello or pudding, it helps. I will not have another fill until sept since I am going away in aug for 3 weeks. You have to set your mind to so this. Currently doing over 3 miles in 60 minutes on a treadmill 3 times a week! I am 50 And I want this bad so I work with the band! -
Oops! Something went wrong! NEED HELP

I was getting something like that on my phone app so I deleted the app and then downloaded it again. Problem solved! -
I was banded Feb. 12, 2013. Up to today 6/11 I have lost 50 lbs, 16 of those pounds were lost in the 2 week pre op diet. I have been lucky that I have not experienced any problems with my band. At times I wish that I had gone for the sleeve, because it is a quicker loss. I am working so hard, going to the gym at least 3x a week, doing 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill in 45 minutes. At times I feel that I should have lost more weight. I have had only 1 fill since I got my band. My next appointment is at the end of June and I am a little anxious. I feel that I need a fill, because I can eat more than what I am supposed to at times, but I stop. In reading some of the stories here, I get a little anxious about getting a fill. The only problem I have with eating is heavy bread, like sour dough or potato bread, so I avoid them. I can comfortably eat 1 slice of toasted wheat bread, any more than that, I dont feel right. Any advice?

My lap band journey so far

Had my appt, down 6 more lbs! Yay! -
The protein shakes help a lot. Once you get past day 3 it gets easier. It is also a mind thing. You have to have the right mind set. What helped me a lot was the sugar free jello, the low sodium chicken broth and the shakes. Trust me they help.

i have a friend who was banded in 2007. She had a baby this year and she did well. She did not gain any weight and she delivered just fine.

Congratulations on getting banded. It sounds like gas to me. I guess I was lucky, had absolutely no gas and no pain. Did not have to take pain killers or anything. Good luck, hope you feel better.

I was very anxious before my surgery too. It was all i talked about for months. I am afraid to be put to sleep, but i wanted the surgery so bad. Had it in february and everything has gone so well, no problems at all and have lost almost 50 lbs to date.
