Did anyone NOT have to do the preop diet?

I did not. According to my doc, it depended on my BMI. Mine was low enough that it was not necessary. -
I was banded on May 7 and just hit 30 pounds lost yesterday. My doctor released me to a regular food diet on Friday. He had me devise a meal plan consisting of five different meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to see if I understood how and what to eat. I have eaten out even when I was on the liquid phase and review the menu online prior to going to the restaurant. Personally I try to stay away from chain restaurants because one they are usually inferior and two they are all cookie cutter. I prefer a chef driven restaurant where they can modify the food as needed. My wife and I usually split meals which gives the correct portion and the pounds are still melting away. My surgeon and I both are foodies and discuss it often. He does cooking shows and prefers sous vide style. I hope this helps!

Day 3 - How on Earth Am I Supposed to Eat 65 g of Protein

Personally I think Flinstones are a waste of time and would not take them or give them to my kids. I use Liquid Health Complete multiple original. They are excellent and seem to absorb well, based on my nutritional profile from my blood work.

I had mine last Tuesday and used no pain meds. The only real pain was from gas. I found that walking was the best solution. One mile on Day 2 and two miles + Days 3 and on.

I have found good quality protein meal replacements to be more filling then just protein shakes. I like Spirutein and Almased. They both are very filling and have a low glycemic index.

My naturopathic doctor prescribed me these injections to do for myself. It was to provide additional energy and fat burning/appetite control/liver cleanse properties. When I was discharged from my banding surgery last Tuesday, my discharge instructions sajd to discontinue the shots. Does anyone have any idea why he would advise this or if it is commonly used with the Lapband?

I was banded Tuesday and feel great! Walked two miles today and have lost 10 lbs. Keeping the protein up to minimize muscle loss. No soreness anywhere. I am amazed!

For me Day 1 was clear liquids. Weeks 1-3 are all liquids. Week 4 is mushy foods. I am on Day 4 and it is already hard, but I can do it!

I was banded Tuesday and still feel some pain. Each day is much better! Hang in there!

Just had my surgery yesterday, May 7th and so far so good. Had clear liquids the first day. Today I had cream of tomato/roasted pepper soup, Spirutein shakes, and greek yogurt. I am sore, but have tried to walk a lot today. Gas pain from the air injected and some local soreness is what I have experienced so far. Tylenol has been my main pain med so far and hopefully tomorrow I will not need it.
