Hello fellow banders, Heaviest -330 Day of surgery - 283 Most lost- 250 Today- 278 I was banded back in Sept 2010. I was so excited to get banned and knew all the things i had to do. eat slow, chew chew chew, eat right, and exerciser. I was ready! Fast forward to today's date and I have no idea what happened. I feel so embarrassed to see people I know that knew I had the surgery. I have been on this odd funk emotional that I'm not used to (not depressed) maybe ashamed. This started about 1-2 weeks ago. I guess I must have realized I failed my band. So this was how I found this web link. I'm glad I'm not alone. I have not returned to get a fill or a follow up with my doctor since about Nov. 2011. I had to go through Facebook pictures to look at my weight loss and weight gain photos. Looks to me that for about 1 year kept it off, but it has slowly came back. Im just about the same weight I was at my surgery date. So now im embarrassed to pick up the phone and call my doctor. Im sure they will be supportive, but I dont know if Im ready to sit in the "hot seat" to tell them I failed. I know I need to get back on track! Im glad I found this forum. Im happy to hear other suggestion on what you did to get back on the wagon. Thanks, Juan

After a 1 year 1/2 hiatus I need to go back and get a band fill. I called my doctors office number and I find out she left the office about 1 year ago. They did send a letter about a year ago but apparently it does happen "it got lost in the mail" to let me know she was leaving. The receptionist said they are referring a new doctor but he is about a 11/2 hour drive. I know there are closer doctors then that. The only bad thing is that now I have to do research on a new doctor. The receptionist did say they still have all my records but I would have to sign release blah blah blah... My main concern to ask everyone out here is, Is anyone an adoption case? Did you switch doctors after you had your lap-band installed? what type of questions does the new doctor ask? any issues with your insurance from the switch? any issues from a doctor point? What would you of done different?

Oops I hit send on accident hahah. I was not done. Well for those who did not know my story I post I was feeling down because I was banded November 14, 2010. Start weight was 330, My surgery weight was 280. I lost about 35lbs shortly after but about 1 year ago I noticed my weight was coming back. I was embarrassed to see friends who knew I did my surgery because I did not follow up. I gained the 35 I lost back. I finally had the courage to see my doctor and when I called she was no longer practicing. So I had to find a new doctor. After doing some research I found Dr Woody Denhem. Made the appointment and had the courage to go to him to continue me weight loss. On Thursday I went in WEIGHT IS 284 lbs. dr said he was happy for me to be there and said let's move forward. He checked me and was able to fill me on the spot. 2 days of liquid and back to solids as of today! I feel good so far! The fill was 5cc an he said what that number means nothing. 5cc for me can be 10cc for someone else. It's all on how I feel. I'm excited to be back. -

Hi MissFab! and yes you do look FAB! (with all do respect) dont want to offend anyone out there. :0) I do have a question for you. Did your insurance cover your procedure after the band did not work for you? Im going back after 1 1/2 year hiatus of not working on my band and I have an appointment to see my doctor in 2 weeks. Just wanted to see other banders experience. -

The FAX came in! It said that my doctor was leaving the bariatric practice to continue her medical experience in Chicago. Way to far me to drive. So I guess Im in the hunt for a new doctor. I want to thank each and everyone of you who commented on my blog. It ment a lot to me to read those words of encourgment. It did just that! I picked up the phone and called. By the sounds of it , it sounds like it also helped out Abraxasbear. Abraxsbear -Im so glad to hear your story about you calling in today as well! Keep in touch brother. Lets do this together! Tomorrow I have 2 phone calls to make to 2 different doctors Im looking into. I will keep everyone up to date with my next step. THANK YOU EVERYONE! Juan -

Thanks Catfish! Just called them back, yes they have a copy of the letter they sent. The reason I never received a letter from them was because for some how my address was changed to a San Antonio TX address. So if they did send something its in TX. lol. So we corrected that. Now just waiting on the fax. -

Thank you. I called insurance company and they only have her records showing active at the same location where I have it. so it was a dead end. Thanks for the lead. I Googled, her name and same info too. still trying, -
Hello everyone. after 1 year of hiatus I called my doctors office to make an appointment and I found out she is no longer with the Mercy Health System in Harvard IL. Is there any other patients of Dr. McClellan out there or know where she went? If I dont find her sounds like i will have to find a new doctor. (not cool) Thanks, Juan
