I had surgery 1/31/07 and have had 2 fills. Thanks for the suggestions. I have bought some Lean Cuizine and health choice dinners; I should remember they are there and bring them for lunch. I've been eating deli meat, cheese, and pineapple cups. Wanted something different so I don't get burn't out. One day I had the meat and cheese out of a lunchable! I forgot my lunch and that was all they had that seemed would work! Again, Thanks for the suggestions - I'll take any and all.

I know that since surgery my body has been adjusting to a new life style. I'm curious, should I be worried that my bowels are not reacting the way they should? Is that why I'm not loosing? Is it what I'm eating? Protein, veggies, some fruit, some grain(cereal in the AM). Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Wow! It's good to read that there are others that are experiencing the same thing I am... no or slow weight loss. Even eating high protein and veggies, still doesn't do it. I too am walking and swimming 3 times a week and yet the weight is not coming off. I also find that I am constipated, so now I've had to add benefiber to my daily ritual!!! And still the weight is not coming off - - I'm drinking the 64 oz of liquid a day and spending most of the time in the bathroom!! I was banded 1-30-07 and have had 2 fills, I feel no restriction. It has reduced the amount I can eat, but I don't think it has reduced the intake enough to make a difference. Granted the band is a tool, but it needs to work in conjunction with a change in life style as well as diet - -but in my case, I keep waiting for it to kick in. It really gets discouraging when you are doing everything you can to loose and it still doesn't want to fall off!!!

Is anyone having problems with constipation? I've added fiber, but unless I take something, I have a problem. Any suggestions?

Is anyone having a problem with constipation? What have you done to overcome the problem?

I will try that - I have found that's the only way I loose any weight!

Could someone please provide some guidance or assistance. I have been stuck at the same weight for over 2 months. I've had 2 fills so far my last one about 2 weeks ago and still I'm not loosing any weight. I'm eating low fat, high protein and drinking so much fluid - I have to get up 3 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom!! I'm swimming 3 times a week. I'm considering trying the liquid diet for a couple of days to see if it will jump start my weight loss, but worried I will really, really be hungry! Has anyone ever tried this, any suggestions?? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.:think :help:

I am making sure I get 60 grams of protein a day. When I have a meal, I eat the protein 1st, then veggies, etc. It really helped. I hope it continues.
-
All of your suggestions worked - I've lost 5 lbs.

I started eating more protein. When I had a meal I would eat the protein first, then veggie, etc. I also am making sure I get 60 grams of protein a day.

Just curious, when did you all start noticing a change in how your clothes fit?
-

I suggest you ""Try it before you buy it" . I have one. I don't use it much, because the seat is so uncomfortable that once I get on, I need to sit on a pillow, and when I get off my butt hurts so bad I can't sit down. :omg: I use the ones at the gym where you sit behind the pedals - the seat is much more comfortable...

I hope I qualify to be part of this group. I haven't lost a pound in 2 months!! :phanvan I'm not sure what is going on with this body of mine! I'm about to loose my mind. I am now adjusting my diet to really push protein and increase my exercise so I'm hoping and praying that I will start dropping some weight. I can't stand this anymore!!! I want to see something happen so bad! My husband tells me that I am obsessed!! Yes that's true - - - I have joined the Fat Patrol - I'm guarding every aspect!!! Got to make it go away!! :nervous

It's so great to hear all your success stories, it truly gives me hope! I am so happy for all of you! You are truly inspirations!! I started at 288lbs, however I've been struggling for the past 2 months with not loosing any weight. I think I'm getting on the right track now - - God I hope so. I've re-adjusted my diet to really push the protein and praying that will do it. Keep up the good work!!! :clap2: -
Thanks, I will try that. I thought eating the salad and low fat products would expedite my weight loss. I'm willing to try anything. I'm not much on the protein bars, haven't found one that tastes good. Can you recommend a good one - they usually taste like flavored card board.

Thank you - I am eating about 1000 calories a day, and exercising 3 times a week. I think I am more depressed now with notloosing than I was before I had surgery. I have not measured, but I haven't noticed any change in my clothes. This is what I ate yesterday 1/2 bagel with 1 tsp FF cream cheese 3 oz chicken with steamed veggies and 1/4 cup Pasta 3 oz chicken thigh with asparagus and green Beans, about 1/2 cup each 4 oz of pineapple juice 1/2 cup of reduced fat trail mix (70 calories) 10 reduced fat pretzels (90 calories) Should I be eating more Protein? This is typically what I eat, I may have salad for lunch with some deli meat. Maybe I just need another fill. :help:

Julie How did you deal with the hunger while you were on the liquid diet? Right now I'm eating about 1000 calories a day. I eat my meal and eat till I'm full, so I'm worried the liquid diet may not fill me up.

Hi It has been almost 2 months since I've lost any weight. I've had 2 fills so far and am getting very discouraged. I am eating low fat food, following the diet, even my snacks are low fat. I eat till I'm full but still no weight is coming off. I am considering trying a liquid diet for a couple of days, has anyone tried that - has it worked? Please, I will take all suggestions!

Hi All: I had my first fill on March 9th and due for 2nd one on April 3rd. Right now I feel that I maybe eating too much, but how do I know? I don't get a full feeling, for example for lunch I had: 3 oz of sliced turkey 1/2 cup cottage cheese 1 snack size jello I didn't feel full at all! And what is most disturbing, I'm not loosing any weight! I'm playing the yo yo game. Please, any suggestions? This is very, very discouraging!! :think

I'm sitting here stuck at 272 for the past 3 weeks!!! Getting really discouraged. So count me in too!

REGULAR FOOD!! WOW, I can actually eat like a "normal person"! :biggrin1: Thank you all. I had my 2nd fill on April 2nd, seems a little better. I've changed my diet a little and am trying to keep mushy foods to a minimum. I had it in my head that I needed to eat "diet foods", i.e. yogurt, cottage cheese, salad, etc. I wasn't eating anything that was "good" - - I recently bought a couple of books, "life after weight loss surgery" there are so many recipes for "REGULAR FOOD". I'm anxious to try some of them. This weekend, I'm cooking, having brisket, twiced baked potatoes, green beans, and pies for desert. I will stay away from the pies, but plan on eating a little of everything else. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

Hello! My name is Ginger, I had Lap Band surgery on January 28th - so far I have lost 15 lbs. I've had my first fill! I feel better!! I have noticed the pain in my knees I was living with for the past two years is now going away! The only problem I have is being patient with weight loss - - - I feel as though I have been stuck at the total loss of 15 lbs for the past month and nothing is happening!! Any suggestions??:think
