  1. Plus your consuming loads of fluids. Does your scale measure water weight? Before surgery my water weight was never over 25% now that I drink almost a gallon of water a day my water weight has climbed. which can keep your weight higher. And bloated so you wouldn't notice pants fitting looser
  2. Are you understanding that your on a high protein diet that feeds your muscle mass? You may not be seeing a huge change in pictures or the scale because as your fat is being burned off your muscles are getting stronger and bigger, even with little exercise because of all the protein.

    Cruise 6 weeks after surgery

6 weeks out you should be fine. Bring a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated. And study the menu for the healthiest protein option. Possibly even a kids meal or tell the head of the dining room that your a weightloss patient. They may have another meal option for you. And whatever you eat, chew chew chew and chew some more until its mush.
  4. Bananas!!! I can eat cracker just fine, chew it real nice before swallowing- no problem. Try to eat a little banana chew it till its much and OMG I want to die from the pain! What's up with that? P.s. my nut told me I can have all the fruit and veggies I want as long as I get my 60g Protein in first. Which I did so I thought I'd have a teeny banana for a snack... Never again

    hard day

I drink through a straw alot! This whole "it puts air in your stomach" is bull. I actually feel better sipping through a straw then I do taking drinks out of my glass. Doctors are all "no 2 patients are the same and we give you individualized care" well then why do I have 1 of 10,000 copy's of the same outlined post op instructions as all ur other paitents. You can follow the rules to a t- maybe they work for you.. But maybe they don't and in the end... You gotta find out what works best for you as an individual not just a sleeve paitent.

My nut said I could have diet soda as long as the carbonation was stirred out so it was flat. I waited till it melted a little bit, which didn't take long in the heat. Stirred it up so it was a slushy and sipped it. No pain, no nothing but relief from the heat. -I'm also 6 weeks post op though
  8. I will be 6 weeks post op Wednesday but had my way in with nutritionist today. 41 lbs lost!!! Woooooohoooooooo!!! I am 4 pounds away from never seeing 300 on the scale ever again!! The last month has been on and off with good days and bad days. But I'm slowly getting my new stomach figured out. I literally forget/can't eat most of the day so then it's a mad dash to try and stuff all my Protein in, but my nuts been a BIG help with that- my new best friend is powdered milk. Pretty easy to get protein in that way and avoid yucky protein shakes!! Lol All in all I feel like I'm moving in the right direction. Clothes are a little looser, family members are noticing, I have more energy for my kiddos. Can't help but smile everyday now!!
  9. I had a weigh in before my 2 week pre op diet and I was 352 (thanks to my food funeral) morning of surgery I was 345. And right now I'm 304 so 41 since surgery.. 48 since pre op
  10. I was sleeved 7/15 and I can drink a reasonable amount of water in a short time. I can't gulp like I want to but decent swallows. Hope they find some insight for you!

It's been very hot and VERY humid where I live... A small 7/11 slurpee pretty much saved me from heat stroke yesterday.

    hard day

It gets better! But at this point you just gotta suck it up cause even if there is something you actually really want to eat... It's going to make you feel horrible (physically) if you try it! Lol I learned my lesson with refried Beans. Dr said puréed so I tried beans... No one bothered to tell me to dilute it!!! Oh the agony lol.. You'll get through this - you pretty much have to lol
  13. I wouldn't go as far to say puberty acne but I have had more break outs then usual since surgery. It's amazing what having part of your stomach removed does to the rest of your body??!!
  14. I don't like this answer! Lol, I never thought about it much until now... Foreign un dissolving objects?! Booooo
  15. I envy protein shakes!! I have spent so much money trying to find one I like and I just can't do it!! Are there such things as protein pills?? Lol
  16. It's only Friday night and I'm already losing sleep over my surgery Monday morning!! I might be more excited for this then I was for our trip to Florida/Disney world/sea world!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I need a margarita!!
  17. Ok so I'm not a regular coffee drinker but I do enjoy a cup of coffee occasionally and when I met with my NUT today (almost 3 weeks post op) she said even at 6 weeks post op I'm still not allowed to have caffeinated coffee... I find this irritating, when so many people drink coffee how&why would they just say "no caffeine"??

    Any Michigan Sleevers?

I was sleeved July 15th 2013 in Petoskey Mi by Dr. Derek Nagle from Grand Health Partners.
  19. I have a friend who got RNY last month and she hasn't cooked a meal in i don't know how long. She goes out every few nights and has the restaurant of choice purée her food then takes the leftovers home and eats it for the next couple of days.
  20. Should I be concerned that I can drink 10 oz of creamed soup with ease?? Last night I was trying to sip slowly but it tasted so good and I was feeling so much butter with some food in me in finished it in about 20 mins
