I just got off the phone with insurance company and they told me that my bariatric surgery would be 100% covered and that the sleeve would be approved too!! I'm god I'm on cloud 9 right now! I don't have to do 6 months of weight watchers... I could be having my surgery in a matter of a month or 2!!!!!!!!
-
Had the seminar last night. Got a call today, have a consult with a physician on the 20th. If things go like the surgeon at the seminar said, I could be starting my journey very soon!!
-
... It's all going to be worth it in the end!!! I'm so happy that everything's happening so close to each other! Kdgaines you are certainly keeping me sane and on track!! *** dopleganger!!!***

My mom works with a lady who had lap band done and decided to ask her some questions about how and why she chose lap band and a bunch of other stuff. The lady told her about some horror stories (the lady that got lap band is also a nurse). Anywhoo, now my mom wants me to switch to lap band because the recovery is easier and the risks are lower and you loose weight slower so she thinks I won't cause so much excess skin and losing weight slower is healthier.... She's the one that planted the seed in my head in the first place and now she's taking it back. If I don't have her support I don't know what I will do because I was iffy about GBP in the first place...
-
Very nice indeed! She's even helping me cover some of the out of pocket expenses as I am not able work full time right now and not able to afford anything out of necessity!

I will be 26 in October
-
It's all coming together so fast I'm afraid I'm going to hit a speed bump and get hung up on something for months and my insurance will run out before I get to finish this process and then have to start all over with my secondary insurance as my primary
-
The band is for the bees. It's getting pushed to the sidelines. Surgeons don't even want to do them anymore. The sleeve and rny are the top choices
-
My surgeon told me I might not have to do the 6 months because my BMI is over 50. But we will see what happens on the 20th
-
I don't recall this specific surgeons name. I will have to check my paper work when I get home
-
I haven't. This was my first step! My PCOS is out if control! I don't have another option. My meds arnt working and my hormones have gone insane. Petoskey doesn't have a bariatric surgeon so a couple times a week some surgeons visit the northern plains from spectrum hospital to do surgeries and consults

-
Northern lower Michigan. Petoskey to be exact. Ever heard of it? I have bcbs through my dad until October. And state Medicaid
-
My seminar was awesome! The surgeon that did the presentation was amazing at answering questions fully and I found out because my BMI is higher then a 50 I shouldn't have to do the 6month weighins and should be able to start my journey to the new me soon!! But have to wait for full confirmation from insurance!
