  1. Happy 59th Birthday H20Trude!

  2. Hi, Terry I can only share my own experience and I am only 13 days post op. I had that chest tightness and indigestion for about a week post-op. I think mine was from the anesthesia (sp?). GasX helped a lot. It got better everyday. I've not had any golfball in the throat symptoms. I hope someone with more experience can help you.
  3. I am 13 days post-op and have had bad bruising. At my post-op doctor's appt. Thrusday, they said every thing was excellent. Zero problems ... the bruising would go away. Then, yesterday while teaching water aerobics pool side - cause I am following every instruction and decided to wait 4 weeks to get in a pool ... as instructed ... blood started squirtting from my port site ... picture a water fountain ... not pretty ... running down my legs. Anyway, I went to the ER, where they said it was a hematoma (bruise) draining ... not a problem ... yeah right, they don't have to face my water aerobics class next week. I called my surgeon who agreed ... that the old blood was just seeking a quicker exit. So, all is well, even if I'm still draining ... and it will be a warm day in May before I GET IN a pool. Happy hunger-free Easter to you and yours.

    Post Op Hunger

I'm now 11 days post op and was sick of sweet. 2 ounces of tuna finely mashed with 2 teaspoons cottage cheese sits well and makes me a happy, full camper.

    Went back to work today

I went back to work - desk job - one week post op after surery 03-26-07. My only problem seems to be afternoon fatique. Around 2 p.m., I hit a wall. A five-minute walk around the block has helped, as does a cup of black coffee. Yesterday (10 days post-op), I threw in the towel and went home at 3 p.m. for a 4 hour nap. I also went for my post-op recheck yesterday and the nurse practioner said ... this is very normal and slowly increasing exercise will increase my stamina. Yawn....
  6. I am 11 days post-op and having zero problems (and have lost 9 happy pounds!). At my post op visit yesterday, the nurse practicitioner said she'd wait 4 weeks after surgery to get pack in the pool. I teach water aerobics at the local Y. Eeek. I called another surgeon this am., and he said I could hit the pool now. At least one, maybe more, people have attended my class one week post laproscopic lapband surgery. What do ya'll think?
  7. Hi. I was banded Monday and came home four hours later. I've had mild gas pains, but that's it. This morning I woke up with a bruise the size of Texas (okay, really the size of a small tea saucer) around my port site. I called the doctor's office and they said don't worry unless I run a fever. Did ya'll bruise?
  8. Hello, new friends. I was banded yesterday at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. My surgery was a 7:30 a.m. and I was ready to go home at 2:30 ... who knew? I thought I was spending the night. I don't have any complaints so far. Is that normal? I'm looking forward to learning lots from ya'll! H20Trude
