I had surgery at NY Methodist in Park Slope Brooklyn.. just watching what I eat bc its easy to eat non healthy food. I try to prepare all of my meals to prevent a possible bad food choice. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

Babynae, b4 I recieved my first fill, I too felt hungry between meals. Trust me it goes back to "lap band" normal after a fill. In fact, most of the July Banders (including me) have experienced this. If you have the need to snack, make it a right choice. Ex. Greek yogurt, sugar free jello-o or ices. Your still healing, cut your self some slack. Learning how to eat differently after 40 will take some time. Hang in there. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

So am I stuck or what?!
BklynPenny replied to bsellis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stuck feeling usually ends with spitting up whatevers stuck. Its starts off slimmy then the food comes out with a little gagging. I think they call it productive burb ("PB"). It feels likes a heavy pressure in your chest & even Water hurts going down. I get stuck with eggs & bread, eaten seperate occasions. Hope this helps. Fyi, I stopped eating lettuce bc it hurts my tummy. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk -
2 times I ate eggs n they got stuck so I stay away. I eat farina & oatmeal for Breakfast I add milk instead of Water. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

Problems, problems....
BklynPenny replied to ChloeHouston's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@pura too funny.. perhaps drinking Gatorade instead of Water during practices. Drink water through out the day so you can stay hydrated so when u sweat it will be all of the water n that Gatorade will replenish. When inwas in high school I was on the soccer team. My coach used to eat big macs while we were running track.. sad I now wonder how hes doing... lol Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk -
Thank you very much... okay, so I'll take it easy till the time passes and I feel comfortable. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

Keep in mind, your body is detoxing. If your drinking your Protein Shakes add skim or 1% milk. Drink Water. Being dehydrated can suck u "DRY". I was allowed a small meal as well. Not sure what your doctor advised. I used up all 800 calories I didn't lose much pre op. Im 1 month post op n down 24lbs. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

Insurance approved! Couple of questions
BklynPenny replied to bassetluv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was okay taking my meds after surgery. The liquid was Tylenol with codeine for the pain. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk -
Good luck. I actually stayed a night in the hospital. I think once u are awake dont try n be a superwoman. Dont lift or over exert yourself. Slowly try to go to the bathroom and begin walking at the hospital. Ur gonna be exhausted so dont push it. U will be just fine. When I removed my tonsils 2 yrs ago I was woken up by an aggressive nurse. She was shoving the oxygen mask on my face n scared the **** out of me. But the bariatric nurses I think were much more gentle as they deal with wls patients all day long. Keep in touch. Good luck. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk

Hi Lala, don't be nervous. After surgery you won't be thinking of food. But you still have to eat something bc you will be on pain meds. I stocked up on plenty of Water bottles, Vitamin water, Gatorade, and tea. Also, Soups. Cream of chicken, miso Soup (no sea weed or scallions), broths. Nothing with chunks. You will have gas pain after surgery. So walking helps and so does a heating pad. The best feeling is burping. Im 1 month post op n still enjoy burping. Lol I now can eat pretty much anything in modration. Mashed potatoes, fish filet (flounder, cod, salmon etc) chicken and even some kinds of meats. If it doesnt chew well I spit it out. I had 2 stuck situations and they were both with scrambled eggs/omlettes. So I eat farina for Breakfast instead. I didnt like the preop diet but I lost a few lbs then. 1 month im down 24 lbs. Good luck with surgery. If you have any questions feel free to message me. Sent from my SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 using LapBandTalk
