hey Mini~Thanks for asking. My son went to visit him yesterday. No change. He will be in the ICU for a little over a week and then go to Craig for inpatient therapy. I am praying that when he gets to Craig we will see more progress. I was working on getting a bunch of pictures to make a collage and I came accross some of his drawings, they are amazing. Of course I balled for the rest of the day! How is your band treating you? -

Hi gals! I sure do have a lot of catching up to do! First off a BIG Thank you to all the prayers and well wishes for my friend and his family. It has been stressful for all of us. Denver~Happy belated birthday! Thanks for the PM and I hope to see you some time! I hope you are enjoying your new hairdo! I am over due for an appointment with my hairdresser. Lap~Congrats on the beautiful bouncy baby boy! I love the name Christopher (that's my younger one's name), I used to call him Ferdie Bird and now I call him Tofie. I think most of you have met him. Christopher...great name! anyway, Lap, may your new grandbaby bring you many hugs and happiness! Bahot~Thanks for sharing your pictures, they are ilncredible!! The look on your face explains how happy you are! Congrats, you have worked hard to get where you are! You look FAB!!!!! Dee~Your 6 month pictures shows a big difference. Isin't it amazing how much our lives can change in just 6 months? Keep up the good work Dee! You have the "Love Bug Glow" and it suits you nicely. So where is this Traveling Pants exhibit? I would love to see it! Adork~Thanks for taking on another weigh in challenge for us. I would like to loose 10#, I should be close to my 5k goal by the end of the 4 weeks, so my exercise goal is 30 minutes a day with 5k training every other day with strength training too. Sophie is beautiful! Mini~Costa Rica! Sounds wonderful, did you say you can hold a baby Sloth? I think my oldest son is part Sloth...LOL I have a friend that offered his vacation home in Costa Rica anytime we wanted to go, can you believe we haven't gone yet? I know what is holding me back?!?! We have been talking about going for YEEEEARS! MC Heather~ Congrats on the larges, that is a great victory! did all the nurses come down and check you out? That is awesome, did you feel like a model doing a runway show? Thank Brutis for the kisses. Deb~All paid and ready to go! I remember being freaked out after paying, but let me tell you, it is worth every penny! You deserve being healthy and happy! Congratulations! How is Tucker? He is in my thoughts and prayers. Brandy~My neighbor was in Steamboat taking pictures of the events! Adult drinks?...I agree with Mini (was it you Mini??), I'll have a vodka w/cranberry juice, or maybe a glass of wine. I went to Keystone over the weekend for the Bluegrass/Beer festival/Golf tournament and I had a little bit of beer, but I didn't care too much for it. Bahot's drinks sound yummy, maybe the next time I am at RR, I'll order one...we should all order one!! WOOFAY~My dear friend...I miss you!!! 14's?!?! Holy thinness Batman! Way to go! I will have to finish catching up later. I would LOVE to see some pictures from the BBQ and hear some stories too. -

Total drive by post here! I just wanted to let you al know that I am lurking often, my computer is not cooperating so posting is difficult. My son's friend probably will not be able to walk again and may not have use of his hands,w will know more when he starts PT I guess??? He will be in ICU for 10 more days then transfers to Craig for inpatient PT. This has taken a major toll on all of our emotions. Thanks for the prayers. I will have to catch up on all the posts once my computer is fixed, my laptop crapped out too..ugh! well wishes to all! -

The thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated. Whew, yes we have been through a hell of a lot over the last year...will it ever stop?! at least pause?? This is what I know of what happened. The boys were wrestling, our frieind heard and felt a pop, he said to the other boy that he was done fighting and that he couldn't move and felt really sick to his stomach, the other boys took him to the bathroom and layed him on the floor and left him there!! He didn't have the strength to yell out for help throughout the night, someone came in the morning and he cursed them out and made them call an ambulance. I don't think they thought was hurt, but he said that he tried to tell them that something wasn't right. I must say that I thought my heart was going to explode over the last couple days. All of the prayers, well wishes and encouragement is greatly appreciated. Dee~Happy belated Birthday sweets! Your happiness is glowing through your words, I feel your spirit! I was down 1.4 for last week. Mini~Gracy May, cool name! Congrats on your new family member, sounds like she will keep you out and moving! Siddan~Thank you for the encouraging words. Yesterday he had two procedures that were to help with blot clots and they started PT. They are now saying possible movement and usage of his upper body, wheelchair for apx a year with heavy duty PT. gotta run, thanks again banditos! -

Denver~Thank you, I don't know what the exact injury is called, I hope it is incomplete, and thank you for the boost and the information. I hope to find out more today. If I could go back and change my decision in telling others about my surgery, I guess I would not have told anyone besides my boys and my husband. I told one person and the news spread like wild fire. Most of the time I don't mind but there are times that I feel like I need to explain myself or I feel the eyes of judgement. Brandy~The boys and wrestling, it seems like second nature. I have even wrestled with them before, but they are too much for me. I have watched them many times and I always think they are too rough. Scary situation. -

Thanks Brandy~ I believe in the power of prayer. He was just wrestling with friends, like they always do and the next thing he knew, he heard a pop and felt a snap... -

Mini~We have heard possible loss of everything from the nipple line down?? Saturday he couldn't feel or move anything, Sunday morning he could bend his elbows and Sunday afternoon he had feeling on the bottom of his feet. He was injured Friday night (my son's birthday)but he didn't get help until Saturday morning. and he was moved right after he was hurt. I think about him laying there not being able to move or call out for help all night long. Thank God he was placed on his side because he said he threw up through out the night and if he was on his back he would have choked. The doctors told him that he should have died. Oh, this is terrible! We left town early Friday afternoon(we were up in the mountains, no cell coverage) and we just found out Sunday. Denver~He was told that he will be transfered to Craig we don't know when. -

Thanks Mini, I am praying so hard for him. I just feel ike I am in a dream state, then it hits me that this is real and I can't stop crying. He just turned 19, my son and him are like brothers, they call themselves the Fox and the Hound and they plan on getting tattoos of the Disney characters. They made a slide show of themselves to go with the theme song from that movie too, it is sooo funny. My son is really struggling, this is going to be tough. -

I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts either, but I wanted to drop in and ask for prayers. My son's best friend (like a son to me) broke his 5th vertebrae over the weekend. We are shocked and scared. I believe in the power of prayer and I am asking everyone I know to pray for him. We are apporachilng the end of the 72 hour critical time they say will determine the extent of the damage. I Thank you in advance for your support. Peace Love -

oh Deb! (tears are rolling down my cheek), I am sooooo sorry to hear about Tucker. Please keep us informed on how he and you are doing. Such a scary situation and you must have been a wreck waiting at home for him. Buster and I are sending hugs for all of you and I will not stop praying for Tucker until I hear that he is feeling better. I hope he eats soon so he can come home to his loving mommy and she can nurse him back to health. -

High Altitude changes to the band
Mal replied to ROBYN S.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read that high altitude does not affect the band. I have a fill on friday and immediatly heading to the mountians, so I hope and pray that my band will not be too tight. I'll let you know... -
Thanks Whosya! A friend of mine started running about the same time I did, she is doing it on her own (no podrunner, no C25k), and she hurt her knee, she is probably 100 pounds lighter than me and 15 years younger, so I was a bit worried about my knees. I will take the days off inbetween, even though it is hard to do, i WANT to run, I am enjoying the C25K sooo much! Thanks again Whosya!

Good Morning Banditos Bella~sorry I missed RR and didn't get a chance to meet you. Welcome to Bandland and congratulations, your new life begins... Dee~How is your new guy? He sounds like a charm! I loved reading your post about inviting the the older gentleman to your table for lunch, I can sooo see you doing that. Our world needs more Dee's!! by the way, my weigh in for this week is a teeny tiny loss of .80, it's tiny but I'll take it. My fill is on the 25th and I can't wait. I am having the hardest time getting over this "forever" plateau, maybe I have hit the wall and this is it??? depressing! I workout every other day and walk on my off work out days. My eating might not be the best of a Bandster, but it's not that bad that I can't drop more weight...ugggh! If I EVER make it to Onderland, I will kiss my scale! Lotza~sorry to hear about your bad flight home and the terrible gas pains. Hang in there and keep moving and drinking. Mini~I hope furry friend try out number two works out better. How's your band treating you? Adork~You pictures show a huge difference! Thanks for sharing those. You must have a sense of relief about your GB, wow, it's not functioning at all? Why does that happen? Lifesaver~just wanted you to know that I think about you often and hope things are starting to turn around for you. Lap~Any news?...is the baby here yet? Everyone, have a wondrful weekend! I am heading out to the gym, I am hooked on the Couch to 5k! -
Whosya~you are so awesome! thanks for coming here and encouraging us. I did week 2 day one and I LOVED it! I find that my day off inbetween bums me out, I want to run. It has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I am worried about my knees aswell...how can we prevent knee injuries??? I bought a wii fit and honestly, I don't use it like I thought I would. I hope when the weather gets colder and I am not outdoors as much that I will use it more often. I would like it if it had pre-set workouts that would take me from start to finish too. well wishes to all our Cto5k runners!!!
