Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Dynamo~so what did Dr. K say about the remote band? I am interested in what the scoop is on that one. Tied~I would like to stop in and visit you. You are staying over night? Mare~you have us worried...where are you??? How was that unfill? I know work has been a pain lately, hope things are looking up! Come back... widow~yeah, the Tech Center isn't THAT far, but there are hotels that are much closer. I think you would be more comfy not having to go very far right after. oh, yeah, and I wanted to tell you that Michael Bradly also has a book called Yes Your Parent's Are Crazy. It's a good read (helps us put a perspective on their-the crazy teens- thoughts). Both are funny, sad and very helpful. Brandy~WOW, you kicked butt at the gym! Even the dreaded treadmill??? Kudos my friend! I dropped the Tmill, too boring! I would rather go in the morning. I get up at 5:30 already, besides my gym opens at 5. I did walk my dog this morning, brisk 30 minute walk. Keep it up and YES of course cleaning counts!!! We will be running before we know it!!! YEAH for us!!! Woofay~Congrats on your job! I ran into a friend the other day and she started teaching 2nd grade. That made me start thinking about the school district again. I am just so comfy at home! I understand how you felt about the background check and the fingerprints, I have to do that too, so does anyone in my home 18 and over. Your clothes???...you won't need them anymore. save one or two sets, so you can put them on when you plateau or your feeling stalled...get rid of the rest!!! I am going to take my chris Snowboarding tomorrow. We went last weekend and I tried it (a couple of short runs...very short). this is something I would not have even tried last winter! My ski pants were soo big, the crotch was down to my knees! I looked like a fool, but I was warm and I am not buying new ones until I lose more. Adios Mi Banditos! -

Hope you are having a good day! OMG! Angie, I just saw your before and after pics on the thread! You are a great inspiration (I think you should post your pics here too)! You are stunning, I am so happy for you!! I can't wait until I feel comfortable enough to post before and current or even after pics... LA and Mona~you girls are too cute! Missmona, I heard your singing and your voice is beautiful. LA, my goal is to be able to run again too and this Spring and Summer I plan on Roller Blading with my dog (hubby says to make sure I have someone with me that can dail 911)...LOL -

Lap~I MUST say again that you look MAHVULOUS!! I was wondering how your one friend was treating you now? At the begining of your LB journey you mentioned a dear friend that shunned away from you? Now that she can she how healthier/happier you are, does she aggree that you did the right thing? Just curious. Taynuh~sounds like you have had a not so fun time lately. Glad to hear everyone is feeling better. Strep is sooooo nasty! I used to get it like once every month for a LONG time, finally they took my tonsils out...WHEW, I am so glad that was done. Once I was hospitalized in ICU because my tonsils swelled so much, they thought my airway would close up. Nasty, nasty Strep! "have you ever?"...I used to get it from friends and family. I remember having a conversation with a friend, I was so excited about my LB journey and she said "well, don't you think if you have to watch what you eat and you have to excercise and maintain your water intake, proteins, and vitamins...if you do that stuff anyway, you know you will lose weight with out the band." I decided after that conversation NOT discuss my journey with that person anymore. She will aske every now and then how I am doing, how much I lost and I will answer briefly. Her compliments and that of others that don't understand are hollow anyway. The same person while a group of us were sitting at a table, she asked another person to join her in a diet plan and workout. Right over me, like I don't count??? So I just interupted and invited myself to join, but they never gave me the diet and they talked about calling each other every day to make sure they are working out and following the diet. I called them both for the first couple days, then when they didn't call me, I just stopped. I was doing it mostly for them, I already do my gym thing and log my food and water AND I have a SUPER support group, my LB buddies...so SCREW them!!! ooooo rant, rant! Bookholder...I LOVE BANDITOS!!!...it took me a while (it's early)...but I got it and it's GREAT!!! Cheers mi Banditos! -

widow~so sorry to hear about all you are going through. Can I reccomend a book (for the teenager problem). I call it my Bible. Yes Your Teen is Crazy by Michael Bradly. He also has a website/forum. It is a good read and I like to reccomend it to any one that has teens. I actualy read it when my oldest was 10 or 11. Teens are tough! Bless all of us Mothers! Finding the right therapist can be half the battle. I hope you can find a good one. My heart goes out to you and your family. -

What did the Doc say? I hope all goes well for you! I had a huge infected abcess in my tooth just before my surgery and I had an emergency extraction, then was on antiobiotics. Thank goodness it all worked out and my surgery went on as planned. I hope the same goes for you! Let us know!

widow~oooooo, sounds like you are having a tough time. I felt the same way. I have been through so many atempts to lose weight and fail. When I researched the LB, I thought this is a great opportunity to give it my all one more time (we never give up on the weight battle do we?). There are times that I feel so hungry, I could eat a horse (and sometimes I do), but I try to look at why I ate that horse...was it because I bumped up my workout and my body is hungry?? could it be because I need more hydration? Could it be that I am actually thirsty and NOT hungry at all?? or maybe I need a fill? Being that the LB is a tool, we really need to find out what part of our routine needs "tweeking". It takes work to make it work. I am no success story by any means, I am deffinatly a "work in progress". "Mentally resist eating", that is a big key! I stay at home also. I know it can be hard. One bit of advice I can give you is to make a daily schedule with your children. Be consistant, and stick to your routine. Have breakfast at the same time each day, have lunch the same time etc. and have the meals preplanned. Make time for outside play, walk, go to the park..and my favorite...quiet time...aaaah make a scheduled time for "peace", I use this time to listen to positive affirmations, read a book, and of course come to LBT. Believe in yourself, that you are making the right decision. you researched it, you know if this is for you. We all have second thoughts, this is a big important issue in our lives. Come here for support, that is what we are here for, to cheer you on! There is much success with the LB and you will find it. I believe in you!:rolleyes2: -

Purple~thanks for the info, I learned a lot. I have heard of the "water loading", but wasn't sure if it was for LB patients and I was going to ask Dr. K the next visit. I think that is one aspect I was missing. I also heard about the cottage cheese test...interesting. I appreciate your post and will implement. Thanks again, you answered a lot of questions that I had and some that I didn't know I had! Dynamo~I totally "get" the pants thing. It used to really bother me when my boys sagged their pants, but I got over that battle. Do you feel like your britches are sagging too??? LOL YAY, the gym, I am going today after work! Lap~Nice to hear form you!...20's??!!! that is SUPER FANTASTIC!!! You must post us update pics, you just must!! I also had to add a ton of memory to my computer (pictures everywhere)! LA~You did it!!! Welcome to LB land, we are all here to help you along the way the best we can. Sounds like you are doing well. Woofay~Sounds like your unfill is just what you needed! How's the meat working for you? Your weight is just going to melt off now! When does you get to see your brother next? This is when he needs to see you, when your band is adjusted just right. Thanks and no thanks for the weight info. I was interested in finding out, but WOW...my goal weight is sooooo far off...I liked it better when I had no idea!!! LOL Dynamo~I feel your perplexity...I see Dr. K next week. Some days I feel like I need a fill ASAP and then others I feel good restriction. I was even a little worried that I might have stretched my pouch??? I notice that if I excercise, I am just like the tazmanian devil, I will tear a pathway to my kitchen back and forth and eat everything! Can we e-mail Natalie and ask her questions? fatwidow~glad to see that you found us! This site is a wonderful place for support. Let us know how you are doing. WELCOME!!! Lap~Are you out there?? How is that fill working for you? I miss your pictures! Ladies and token guy...have a meaningful Monday! -
