  1. I'm scheduled for my first fill today. For some reason I'm really nervous. I wasn't nervous about the surgery so this is throwing me for a loop. I thought about canceling the appt but have chosen to ignore whatever is telling me to do that and am just going forward. I know it's for the best, not sure why I'm so nervous?? Happy thoughts sent my way would be appreciated!!
  2. I wasn't really nervous about the procedure itself. My fears were that I didn't want any negative results to come from having a fill because I was doing pretty well without it. There is a small "stick" to numb the area then I didn't feel when she did the actual fill. No negative reactions so far. Just reminding myself to keep following the rules! I lost 4 lbs from not eating much the day of the fill. Still down the 4 today so hopefully I don't go back up. Puts me at 22 down since surgery (6 weeks ago) and 46 down since I began the journey the end of January. Can't wait to lose 4 more and be down 50!!
  3. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Lasagna cup

I'm on "mushies" and made something actually worth taking a pic of:) 1/4 cup cottage cheese 1/4 cup Pasta sauce 1//4 cup shredded f/f mozzarella cheese 1-2tbs grated Parmesan Layer first 2 ingredients in microwave safe bowl. Heat for 20-30 seconds. Add mozzarella and heat addition 30 seconds or until cheese is melted. Add Parmesan. With the ingredients I used it was 150 calories and 13 grams of Protein and super yummy:)
  7. I made these yesterday. They are super yummy and provide Breakfast for the week. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/03/broccoli-and-cheese-mini-egg-omelets-2.html?m=1

    Stuck

I'm trying hard to not get frustrated. I have been up and down a pound for two weeks now. I am still mainly on mushies and eating around 800 calories a day. I know my body is still healing (I'm on day 20) but I can not figure out how one can eat 800 calories a day and not lose weight for two weeks?? People like to say its simple calories in/ out but it really isn't!!

    Day 1 post Op

I was just banded yesterday, May 3rd. I'm doing pretty well. Very sore and tired. Excited to have finally made it here though. I lost 25 lbs from my initial consult to surgery which was 3 1/2 months. Looking forward to more weight loss but more importantly being healthy!
  10. I had my surgery May 3rd, so 17 days ago. Just wanted to give an update that I am feeling so much better. I had my stitches taken out Friday and my incisions were a little sore but already feeling better. My energy is returning and eating/drinking is going well. I am in the mushy stage until day 29, so 11 more days. I am in a completely better frame of mind though I will say I have started to think about some food I don't need or can't have yet. I just have to remind myself of my goals (weight loss, better health, quality of life, etc) I am a little frustrated because I haven't lost weight in over a week. I had lost 13 lbs within 5 days post op so I know that is good but still hard to not see anymore. People like to say it's about calories in/calories out but I have been eating 800 calories and burning 200-300 so how does that add up to no more lost? Anyway, overall I'm 100 times better so those of you just banded or getting ready to be hang in there. It really does get better!!
  11. Please share what a few days look like as far as what you are eating. Anyone know any good websites with recipes and meal plans? One of the biggest reasons I have struggled in the past (pre lap band) is poor meal planning. I do not want that to cause failure now but I am struggling to find good ideas. Thanks for any support and direction!!

What mushies are you eating? Some ideas are: Refried Beans with shredded cheese-melted and a little sour cream and salsa or taco sauce Cottage cheese pizza Cup- pizza sauce with melted shredded mozzarella cheese Lasagna cup- cottage cheese, Pasta sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese Pinto beans Soft/flaky meat- tuna, other fish, chicken Steamed or blended/puréed veggies Applesauce Soft fruit-no skin Bananas Mashed potatoes Thin oatmeal or cream of wheat Scrambled eggs-make sure they aren't too dry and chew really well. Hope this helps!

    Day 1 post Op

Yes, I have been feeling hungry. I'm supposed to be on liquids until tomorrow but was starving so added in some mushies. I've had refried beans with shredded cheese and a little sour cream and taco sauce. Also scrambled eggs. I just had cottage cheese "lasagna". Cottage cheese, pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. I eat 1/2-3/4 cup at a time. I feel like I could eat more most of the time but don't want to push it. I have my 2 week check up tomorrow so we'll see what they say I can have. What have you been eating? When can you advance from mushies?
  15. Congratulations! Your hard work is paying off!!

    Stuck

I understand how you feel. I lost 12 lbs in 5 days, post op lost 2 more then somehow gained that 2 back. Now haven't lost anything for 8 days. It's our nature to want to see the scale go down daily and to worry if we had initial weight loss but it won't continue. As others have said we are still healing and adjusting. Even though we would like to see more 1-2 lbs a week is good and there may be weeks the scale doesn't change. Just follow your doctor's orders on what/how much to eat and get some exercise! You will do great!

    Lap band "diet"

Thank you everyone for your input/suggestions!

What do you have after fills?

If you got a fill 2 weeks after surgery and are back to regular food what was your post op diet like?

    Lap band "diet"

Thanks Jenni30! I just spent a few min looking at the website and it looks like a lot of great ideas. I will definitely be trying some of them!
  20. I was banded on Friday. Today I am feeling a mix of starvation and sick to my stomach. I do not see how I can make it on full liquids for 11 more days. Any tips on how to survive?
  21. I had surgery Friday and Sunday I felt pretty yucky then was doing ok Monday and ended up vomiting Monday night. What the dr said is swelling can reach its worst 2-3 days after surgery. So you could be very swollen, internally, right now. The emotions are normal as well. We've made a huge change and its easy to question that. We will see it was the right decision but we have to go through the healing process. Hang in there!
  22. Bandedk8y I did start feeling a little better yesterday and doing pretty well this morning. So hopefully a couple days and you will feel better too. I'm still not getting much down but hopefully that will get better soon. I took a shower on day 3 and was very week and shaky. You might want to wait another day or two if you aren't feeling well enough.
  23. What is included on full liquids?

PatchAid Vitamin Patches
