Hello have not posted in a while I was Banded November 12 2013 with no fluid in my band , I have lost 21 pounds and now I go for my fist fill this upcoming Tuesday.. Need advice on what to expect. The first fill is done in the hospital, My doctor said so he can put the maximum amount in band.I have no restriction I can eat what ever I want I just choose to make better choices. Other than the slow weight loss and the challenge of staying on track this has been the best decision of my life!!!

I started my pre op liquid diet today , surgery is November 12 . I can only have 3 protein shakes and as much water as I would like. Not hungry at all but the taste of these shakes are killing me!!!! I have the whey protein from Walmart in the cookies and cream flavor and I am using Vanilla Soy milk!!! So far today I can only stomach 2 shakes which equals out to 60 grams of protein.. Please help any suggestions are welcomed!!!!

I am doing much better just anticipating tuesday!!! I was just told that my vitamin D is low so I have to start supplements!!! Cant wait !! Thanks For the thoughts will keep everyone posted!!

Well Happy Birthday!! I am hanging in there I finally found a mix I can tolerate I mix the protein with water and frozen fruit...At least u can have some type of meal I cant have any solids!!

I had my consult with surgeon on 04/19/13 he told me I was an excellent candidate for lap band surgery I have a BMI of 41.1 with diabetes and high blood pressure .My insurance requires three consecutive weigh ins (had my first 04/01/13 and second 05/01/13, third will be 6/06/13 ) a visit with a nutritionist , and a psych evaluation, I have all these appts scheduled for this month. My surgeon requires an upper gi check to rule out hernias and also a pulmonary consult which I had today, she referred me to get a sleep study done to see if I have sleep apnea. And I also have to have my thyroid checked. I am also required to lose 5-10% of body weight prior to surgery achieving this by going on an all liquid diet for two weeks.I am looking for Protein shakes that are lactose free cant seem to locate any! Wondering how long it will be before I am approved for surgery ? Also what kind of road blocks if any I may come across?
