I was banded 4-30-13 and have only had 1 fill so far. I feel restriction but not a lot. It feels like I can eat a lot, like the food passes through easily. I have never been stuck so bad to where I have had to have food come up. If I ever feel stuck (get hiccups real bad and wont stop) I can ALWAYS just wash it down with a big gulp of water and then its like I haven't eaten anything. Has anyone else been at this "stage" before? Do I just need a fill? I don't want to over eat and stretch out my stomach but I am terrified of getting stuck and having PB. I HATE throwing up. lol. I have lost 30lbs so far and only have maybe 20-30 to go. I'm not gaining any weight and not losing either. I just want to make sure I'm not messing up.

I never had heart burn after surgery. I did have a hernia repaired so everything was uncomfortable the first few days. I am 8 days post op now. The only complaint I had the whole time was that damn shoulder pain. It got unbearable for me. It is just now starting to get livable. The uncomfortable feeling when drinking liquid is probably just the liquid passing through the band. It gets better. I had a weird feeling when drinking or eating soup but you get used to it and after you start to heal it pretty much goes away. I read way too many of the horror stories on this site and worried way way more than I needed to about the shoulder pain. Just remember time heals everything.

By the way I was banded on the 30th. Started at 255 (before pre op diet) and as of five minutes ago I am 233. Lost 10 pounds during pre op diet.

Energy levels get better. I just started regular foods. Make sure you take something with you to work for a snack. You will get hungry (or weak in my case, I don't really feel hungry) before lunch time. Listen to your body. When you feel weak eat a little. Don't starve yourself. I eat four or five small meals a day. It is good for your metabolism and keeps you energised all day.

Banded on the 30th and down 20lbs. I wouldn't worry too much everyone is different. I know guys lose weight faster though most of the time. Also the shoulder pain is finally starting to get better. Only really bothers me when I try to go to bed at night.

Yes I have been regular. Today doesn't seem so bad. Still sharp pains every once in a while. Did you have a hernia repaired? I will try some Tylenol later. Thanks -
Thanks for the reply. Light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope so too. I did have a hernia repaired too. The first two days after surgery I went to work and was walking around a lot. The third day every time I get up the shoulder pain is unbearable. I'm in the cat nite heading to my dad's. Will see how it goes. Pain meds don't seem to help for the shoulder pain either.

Thanks. I can deal with it for a couple weeks but not much longer. Lol.

Thanks. Makes me feel a lot better. Was just worried it would stay forever. Lol -
I use it every once in a while. The pain stops when I lay down. As soon as I get up shooting pain starts. Very annoying but I can deal with it just want to know if it ever goes away. Been reading some post on here that say they are years post op and still have the pain.

Ok. I was not banned in March but I would like some feedback from some of you that were. I was banded on 4-30. 4 days post op. The pain in my shoulder is very bad today. I went to work Thursday and Friday. Not full days but I am moving around. Today the only thing that helps this pain is laying on my right side. When I stand up it is really bad. I guess I have been reading too much on here because I'm kind of worried that this pain won't go away or is due too something besides the gas they used during surgery. That is really the only pain I have besides taking deep breaths but that is just uncomfortable not painful. They did fix a hernia too. How long does the shoulder pain last?????? -
Banded on the 30th. Does this shoulder pain ever get better? Mine has only gotten worse it seems like.
