I'm almost immediately attracted to a guy if his profession has to do with computers. 6. All of my friends would say I'm way too shy around guys and should be the freak that they know I am. I guess that's it...and it's all about guys...dang

    Over zealous????

Last November, about a month after my surgery, I found a cute little black dress. Now everyone knows all women should have a little black dress. Well, being overweight most of my adult life, I have never had one. The LBD (little black dress) was only $25 and a size 16. At the time I was still a snug 24. Lo and behold here I am 9 months or so out and LBD is too big. Do I regret buying it? Heck no! It gave me great motivation fo get my butt into it. I've even started wearing some clothes that I hadn't worn since college. The only bad thing now is that I very much love to clothes shop, finally, and they keep getting too big. It's a terrible situation to be in....ok not really.

    A thread for Single Bandsters

Manatee....I wasn't directing that question at you. I was simply throwing it out there to everyone. I honestly meant no offence. As far as the independent thing, I simply meant that all the guys if met are put off by the fact that I make more money or live in a bigger house than they do.

    Cymbalta

Poodles, I take mine at night for that very reason. I was just getting way too dizzy. But let me tell you all, I've been on it for a year and I don't know that I would do if I ever had to stop taking it. To me, it's a miracle drug and if I had to I would pay out of pocket for it everytime.

Great News for people insured by Aetna

Ok.....I've been denied for the 2nd time by Aetna. 1st time as not covered by plan and this time as not medically necessary. I read the medical policy before I even started all my leg work. My surgeon sent in records for 6 months of supervised dieting, my BMI is 48.9 and I have 2 co-morbidities. What else am I missing? How I read the policy was that you only needed a psych review if you had a sever psychosis or such, and that you needed to see a dietician only if you had not completed the supervised diet for 6 months. Grrrrr....this is so frustrating!

Great News for people insured by Aetna

haloep, I just had my first consultation with a surgeon. The same day they sent in all the info including the diet documentation. Now the office is just waiting to hear from Aetna on what else is needed. I'm now officially on the waiting side of approval.
  10. Hi everyone! I'm not really new, I've been lurking for almost 2 years now. I know I should post more. I just had my first consultation with my surgeon (He's GRRRREAT!) and gave him all the dieting info and medical record from my PCP. The Lap-Band co-ordinator has already faxed everything to my insruance (Aetna) along with the surgeon's dictation. All i have to do now is wait for the insurance to tell me the next step. I'm so excited I'm even annoying my mom. Just wanted to let you all know I'm on my way and I'm looking forward to joining life on the "other" side! Kim in OK
  11. Hi Everyone! I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and am really enjoying the atmosphere here. I'm currently waiting to see if my insurance will cover the Lap-Band. The surgeon that I have been referred to says my insurance, Aetna, does not cover it. I called Aetna today and they told me that they will send me a worksheet to see if it would be covered for me. I sure hope so. Anyways a little about me. My name is Kim. I'm 27 and have a BMI of 42 plus a bunch of co-morbidities (sp?). I was approved for the VGB back in 2000, but chickened out a week before surgery because it was permanent. That's why I'm so excited about the Lap-Band! So if anyone knows about Aetna coverage please let me know. But either way I look forward to hanging out here for a bit. Kim in OK

    Yup I'm new

Neicy, Thanks, that makes me feel better. I was reading all the policy provisions and Aetna seems to be kinda stupid as far as the Lap-Band is concerned. I really hope they do approve me because I don't think I can afford the cost here in the states as self-pay and my mother has forbidden me to go to Mexico. Kim
